Do you ever find yourself so behind on reviews, like you got over five to write, and you start forgetting what they're about. Then you get so stressed because you don't feel like you can just sit and read, instead you feel compelled to review but you never seem to do?
Yeah, that's me right now. Any suggestions, how do you peeps deal with it?

It may not help much with this batch (sorry!) but I like to highlight on my ereader as I go through the book. Good parts, of course, but also bad parts, plot points, characterizations that are telling or good or annoying - all the stuff that makes me perk up. That way I can go through my notes later and jog my memory.Hope that helps... I'm curious to see how other people tackle this problem, too!
For the most part, I forget really quickly what a book was about, so I always review as soon as I finish. So sorry, I'm no help at all!!
I review as soon as I've finished the book as well, but also use Kazen's trick of highlighting or quoting the book here just to jog my memory over particulars.
Ugggh all of you guys are so organized about this. That was very helpful, I'll try to remember highlighting. I'd try to write a review immediately after I'm done reading, but I don't do well with pen and paper, and I don't always have a desktop & keyboard which is the best way for me.
Also another random question: how do y'all actual enforce a requesting ban? I've tried dozens of times to stop requesting more, but my self-control is weak and so on I sometimes get bored and start clicking. Any methods that have actually worked?

OMGOMG My new book has come up on Netgalley!!
And also two of my friends, which I have just requested.
I am so bad at Netgalley. It's kind of you to say we're organised, Mars, but we really have to be with such poor impulse control.
That's so cool Nicole! I just got approved for
it doesn't come out for a while but I'm excited to probably read it soon :D I also couldn't resist and got
. . . Got 3 new books and haven't read anything. . . Feb is going great
Mars - I also write my reviews as soon as I finish reading so that I don't forget too much. Sometimes, I keep a few notes, maybe on my notes app on my phone or on my laptop. It just helps me to remember things I want to comment on. I do that more often with nonfiction books. I don't know about requesting bans. The only way I don't request is to not go on the site. I have also looked up some of the books (if they are previously published or soon-to-be published) in my library. Just knowing I can still read them for free sometimes helps me to not put the book on my shelf where I'm obligated to it.
I just got Never Let You Go
. I've never read a book by Chevy Stevens, but I've been interested in many of hers. I'm looking forward to this one. Of course, since I haven't read any, that puts my monthly total at +1.
Well, I've just finished reading and reviewing Peter Darling (review)And Keeping Love Alive as Memories Fade: The 5 Love Languages and the Alzheimer's Journey (review)
So that totally means it's time to request new books, right??
Certainly if you're in this group it does!! Oooh, I found an interesting Jack and the Beanstalk story!
Still making it through the backlog. That's my new year resolution, I've decided: to get down to 0 books that have been on my shelf for three months. And I am now down to 4.I'd also really love to have no more than 20 books on shelf total, but I don't see that happening anytime soon. Maybe next year's resolution...
How fun! I just started using NetGalley the second week of January, so this will be a fun way to structure my reading. 28 books on NG Shelf (to read)
24% Feedback ratio
I have 4 more almost finished, so hopefully I can get those finished in this short month!

I'm still reading my first book. . . I don't know why I'm having so many mixed feelings with this one! That's a great goal Nicole, mine right now is to at least finish one book!
I've got so many challenges going on, I haven't been as on top of the reviews. I hope to be able to get two more current ones done this month and maybe knock out one of the old ones as well.

Do you ever get so caught up in your reading that you don't want to stop to write your reviews?
Thinking about that, it was decided we need a "Review Weekend", once each month, set aside to write those reviews you've been not doing in favor of reading!
Review Weekends will vary randomly each month and is meant to be a time set aside to review. Take one, or both days and get caught up on reviews so you can spend the rest of the month reading!!
The next Review Weekend is set for Feb 19/20
**When linking your reviews, please link only to the book(s) here at GoodReads. At this time, linking to a personal blog is not allowed. Thank you!
