Karin | 18 comments There are so many reprints but the one I'm looking for has illustrations (pictures, and diagrams) of the time machine. It's very detailed and one of the older books probably before the 50s but definitely before the 60s.

Tesh | 66 comments maybe change the title/heading to something like - 'looking for edition of The Time Machine etc' so people don't think this is already solved

Cumbling Michael (CumblingMichael) | 165 comments Hmm.

I was intrigued by this, so I did some searching. It turns out there have been quite a few illustrated editions of this book, but most seem to be from the 1980s. I did, however, find the following reference on AbeBooks:

"The Time Machine. With a preface by the Author written for this edition; and designs by W.A. Dwiggins.

Book Description: Random House, New York, 1931. Book Condition: Fine. No. 117 of 1200 copies. 8vo. 86 [2[. Profusely illustrated in color and black and white. A tour de force of design full of W.A, Dwiggins graphic work and art. A acknowledged great piece of book design and graphics a fine publisher's designed slip case Pictorial and printed boards. Leather spine. Gilt lettering on spine."

Does this sound close?
