The time machine by HG Wells.

There are so many reprints but the one I'm looking for has illustrations (pictures, and diagrams) of the time machine. It's very detailed and one of the older books probably before the 50s but definitely before the 60s.

maybe change the title/heading to something like - 'looking for edition of The Time Machine etc' so people don't think this is already solved

I was intrigued by this, so I did some searching. It turns out there have been quite a few illustrated editions of this book, but most seem to be from the 1980s. I did, however, find the following reference on AbeBooks:
