Jagriti (Abhinita) | 5 comments Hello

A quick query, I am scheduling a free e-book promotion on amazon KU. I want it to run on every sunday for consequitive 5 sundays worldwide. But I am a bit unsure how to schedule it to ensure it is available in Australia, India, UK etc for the whole day on the intended day.

Sorry, reason I ask this is because the details say the deal will start/end from mid-night PST. How should I adjust the time difference?

Little help will be much appreciated as I am doing this for the first time and during my book launch, I messed it up a bit and don't want to get it wrong again!

Thank you all for your help in this matter - Jagriti

Midnight Pacific Standard Time is obviously different for you if you live outside the area. For example I'm in Cyprus, close to Turkey and Syria, midnight PST is GMT +2, 09:00 to be precise. Check out this site, it may help - https://time.is/PST

I'm afraid you can't change international timelines or the time your promo starts and finishes, so doing it for one day at a time means you will have some people worldwide who are inevitably going to miss out. That's why I think most people go for a straight 5 days.

You can chose the date and how many days your promo is to be for on your kdp dashboard. So just chose a date to start and a date to end.

As an extra thought to maximise your promo, look at using KDRoi, http://www.kdroi.com/
Works a treat for me.

Good luck
Tom

I am intending to have free ebook promotion for a 5 day run. It is only a short story, but I want to give it a try and see how it goes before trying my longer stuff. How would I publicise it, for free I mean?

Hi
Here's a link I use for promoting my books. Some are free some you may need to pay for.
http://www.readersintheknow.com/list-...
Bear in mind doing it this way means a fair amount of work.

Here's five top-tips: -
(1) Use Windows Notepad (sorry, no idea what Macs use) and create a 'Promo xxx' file where 'xxx' is your book/story name.
Put in this file the following - ASIN, Title, Price, short blurb on your book, your bio, website url, facebook url, twitter name. Save the file so that you can copy and paste this information as you will eventually get the idea because all these things, or at least most, will be asked for when you fill in the forms on these sites. Once you have a 'cheat sheet' like this you can use it again and again and keep refining your information.
(2) Stagger your submissions and make a note of which sites give you the best return, use a spreadsheet if possible, easier to look back on.
(3) Make sure when you write a book, to have at least one, more if possible, book of short stories in the SAME genre. These are your FREEBIE books.
Your TARGET book is the one you want to sell.
Your FREEBIE books are your short stories you want to give away.
Ensure FREEBIE books has a section at the front and back linking you main book.
Give your FREEBIE books away in a rotational basis and each of these will, when your reader downloads, have a link to the book you want to sell.
Bear in mind this is a game of numbers. I sell my TARGET book to between 4% and 8% of the total who download my FREEBIE books.
(4) Try and make your FREEBIE books worthwhile to download as a free book. Also, publish one on Kobo and make the sale price free, Kobo lets you do that. Then contact Amazon and ask them to price match it worldwide, explain it's part of your sales plan to sell more books on Amazon. Here's an example of that. This is my permanently free book - http://mybook.to/LivinginCyprus2015
(5) Notice the short URL above. It's created using booklinker. http://booklinker.net/
This site creates universal urls that when you right click and copy, you can paste into your blog, books or anywhere. When a potential buyer clicks it, it takes them to the Amazon page in thier own country, rather than just the US page. Works a treat.

You can also pay for KDRoi, http://www.kdroi.com/
Works a treat for me.

Let me know if you need more help. Been at this for years and eventually found my way through the marketing morass of disinformation.

Good luck.
