What type of holiday do you prefer? (Beach, Mountain, Camping, exotic, etc) monuments Read a book in that setting or that represents your choice
New Pompeii
Pompeii is an amazing, natural, monument to the past and to a devestating disiaster that destroyed an entire community. I hope to visit it someday.
Well , that's my first 12 complete. If Janice is happy that they meet criteria!! I'll post on the reveal thread tomorrow.

What is your name? (First, Last, Middle, Nickname – you only need to pick one if you prefer. Feel free to list them all.)
Waking Up Dead
My given name is actually Margaret but when my dad took one look at me he said "that's too big a name for such a little thing - I'll call her Margo" and that was it!
Margo wrote: "My given name is actually Margaret but when my dad took one look at me he said "that's too big a name for such a little thing - I'll call her Margo" and that was it!."I love that!
I'm glad to see you're diving into part 2. I hope to get a start on it soon.

Do you prefer green or black olives? Neither? Neither Read a book with either a predominantly green or black cover depending on your answer. If you said “neither”, read a book with a predominantly white cover. Aim for at least 75% of the cover so that when you look at the cover, it screams green, black or white depending on your choice.
I can't abide olives so I read The Playdate

What is your favourite fruit? Manderine Read a book with that fruit on the cover, in the title, or the colour of that fruit is the colour of the cover.
I read The Probable Future
. The colors in this book cover remind me of the layers of a manderin - bright orange skin with paler sements. All imaginable shades of orange :-)
I love the cover! I think Alice Hoffman can be a mixed bag. Her books don't seem to be received consistently. I've read two books of hers - one I gave 5 stars to and the other 2 stars. Others seem to express the same sentiment.

What is your relationship status? Married Read a book with that word in the title, or where the main character or author shares that status. Or…. Get creative. What kind of book will be representative?
The Couple Next Door
Yup, I'm part a really boring married couple, and very happy to be so!! Not a great book though
Janice wrote: "I love the cover! I think Alice Hoffman can be a mixed bag. Her books don't seem to be received consistently. I've read two books of hers - one I gave 5 stars to and the other 2 stars. Others seem ..."That's good to know Janice because my local library has a quite a few of her books. I would have chosen this one just for the cover though :-)
I've only read two of her books, and they were both meh for me. Which one did you really like, Janice?
I loved The Dovekeepers. The one I gave 2 stars to was The River King. I've got quite a few of her books on my wishlist because the premises all sound so good.
Oops. I just looked at my review for The Dovekeepers and see that I gave it 4 stars, not 5. Still, I was very moved by the story.
Ooh, they have The Dovekeepers in in the library. Now, lets see if I can work it into this challenge lol
I read The Dovekeepers last year too. It's a story that has stayed with me. I also found it a moving experience.

Pick a number between 1 and 10. 1 elect a series and read the book that corresponds to that number. Or, read a book with the number in the title.
I read The Way of Kings
and I loved it so much that I'm now reading the second book for no reason other than I WANT TO!Great book, possibly the best fantasy I've ever read.
It became my favourite fantasy series too Margo. Only problem is that I'm now comparing all other fantasy to it :/
I'm kind of a fantasy beginner, I've read a few series and really enjoyed them (Dune, The Tales of Thomas Covenant, Otherland). I'm impressed with your comments about The Way of Kings. I'll have to check it out!

32. What is the feature on you are most often complimented? Eyes
is a book that I had read on kindle. As soon as it was released on audio I added audio and listened to it. It is an incredible powerful novel from a young irish writer (see, I'm flying the flag!) whose work focuses on feminist issues. It is the harrowing story of a teenage rape and its aftermath - not to be missed!!The eyes are so prominent and haunting in this picture.

It sounds like an interesting read.
Janice wrote: "Margo wrote: "PART TWOTASK 32 COMPLETE on 23rd Apr

Interesting but a bit upsetting.
The subject matter would be certainly be distressing. I was thinking that it would be interesting as to how the author approached the story. I didn't convey completely what I was thinking.
Oh no, I understood your thought process Janice, I was just afraid I had talked it up too much without emphasizing the nature of the content - although there are no graphic scenes it is distressing. It is a very worthwhile read and it will scare the life out of anyone with teenage children!
First I read the kindle book last year. It came out on audio last month and I immeadiately bought it but to be honest, in this case, I don't think the audio added to the impact of the book.

2. What is your favourite sport? Bowling Read a book that is either about your favourite sport or one of the characters plays that sport. You could also chose a book where the cover shows that sport.
WOOHOO Finally stumbled across a book where one of the characters (Gerald) goes bowling. I had actually given up on that task! I read Fathers and Daughters. To be honest, that is the only thing that kept me reading this library book to the end - as a thriller it stank :-(
PART TWOTASK 48 COMPLETE on 11th May 2017

48. Who is someone you miss? My dad Read a book that represents that person in some way.
I read Boy: Tales of Childhood. Roald Dahls dad died when he was 4, mine died when I was I was 6. We share the trauma of loosing a father in early childhood. They were both great dads :-)
Well done on the bowling! I can't remember ever reading a book where people go bowling.Sorry to hear you lost your dad at such a young age. Sounds like a great book to remember him by. I! think I read almost all of Dahl's childrens books, but only one for adults.
Peggy wrote: "Well done on the bowling! I can't remember ever reading a book where people go bowling.Sorry to hear you lost your dad at such a young age. Sounds like a great book to remember him by. I! think I..."
Dahl was a wonderful writer and reading his life story it was clear where some of his ideas came from but it still required his spark of genious to turn them stories that are childrens classics ;-)

OK Janice, all updated! I never occurred to me that you would see it - I'll find another place to make my notes ;-)

I was a bit iffy starting out but I really liked this one.
Congratulations on finishing part 2, Margo. What is the time frame for The Painted Veil? I have it on my TBR list, and was curious if I could use it for my favorite season question.
Oh Cherie, I've only just seen your question! I have been a bit distracted from my challenges so I must apologise. It actually takes place over a years, so no good for a seasonal challenge. Might be good for a continental one though ;-)
okay, it's time for part 3 and i have some back dating to do as i've been awol for a while!PART 3

15. What is your shoe– Select that number of books on your TBR, put them into the Fruit Machine (or another randomizer), and read the one that is selected. If you used European sizes, convert to US using this site: https://www.softmoc.com/ca/shoesize.asp That will reduce the number of books you need to plug into the Fruit Machine size? (No halves; roll up to next number) uk 7 US 9.
The random number generator said....28
For me this corresponded to Gentlemen and Players. I loved this book! Great tale of vengeance where the individual battles the establishment. It kept me guessing to the end.

26/50 https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
46. What is your Zodiac sign? Libra This one is wide open. Read a book that represents your zodiac sign in some way.
My sign is libra so I'm all about the justice! And is there anything that symbolises justice better than an old fashioned weighing scales? I don't think so so I chose to read Special Circumstances
Perfect cover but a mediocre story.

Would you rather encounter a ghost, an alien, or neither? Alien If ghost, read a ghost story. If alien, read a story with aliens in it. If neither, read a book about another supernatural being other than a ghost or alien (werewolf, vampire, witch, succubus, etc).
A Closed and Common Orbit
A great story of futuristic aliens and it's not post-apocalypsic!
