You ought to get John Cleese to do the voice-over :-)

They often work best as blogsThe Tallis stories where I just have a picture and start to write, not knowing what I'm going to say, often get the most plaudits
Good to have all those thoughts on record - you may be happy you wrote them down later, when you can't remember, "What was I thinking?"They're always fun to read.
Yeh, I reckon it’s probably about pressure. Off the cuff there is none so you just kind of ... witter on.Cheers

Yikes! It's kind of what's happened with the shorts. It's really easy to write about The Pan of Hamgee so I just start off with ... I dunno ... 'The Pan of Hamgee rolled up his trousers, sat on the quay and dabbled his bare feet in the cool water. That was better ...' and before I know where I am I've got 20k!
I'm guessing Tallis is kind of in the same vein.

Could be ... I wish I could do some books about Ruth, I find her POV comes even more naturally. I'm thinking a sequel ... I also have some vague ideas about K'Barthans in space. Might be funny.
See if you can do some 1000 word shorts about her, at the very least you can use them in a blog or a newsletter, then when you have enough, stick them in an ebook :-)
How about you have her as a witness to your family doings, describe things from her point of view and how she would get involved in incidents?
I think she would work quite well in sequel stories as the pair of them adjust ... I love the idea of him meeting her family. How would that go? And the nitty gritty of her combining her life here with ... the other one. I think she'd want to carry on working. She'd want to prove herself somehow.
This week, I have mostly been talking about creative doubts, the audio books and my new release! Woot.Cheers

Flippin blink I've smashed my iPad. I'm such a tosser. Never mind, this week's blog. https://mtmcguire.co.uk/2020/02/15/vole/

Glad you all enjoy it anyway. It's interesting, I have heard from a lot of invisible readers lately, not least Gareth, who's reading my books.Cheers

Jim wrote: "Interesting, audio is even more complicated than books!"I think it may just be a case that my ... what ever it is ... OCD? Light Asperger’s? that makes me a bit obsessive. I have to do a LOT of research to feel I am equipped to make a decision about anything, that’s why I find politics so difficult of course. There just isn’t time to do the level of research I’d need to make what I consider to be an informed decision.
It helps that this is also my specialism - I am useless at selling, unless I’m doing the patter at people, face to face, but a lot of this is branding really, and I’m alright at that. Just call me Moist Von Lipwick. Mwahahaahahhargh.
Yes, I confess even though what you wrote was clear, I was losing any interest in venturing down that path even as I read ;-(
This one’s slightly better, another mish mash about nothing much ...https://mtmcguire.co.uk/2020/03/07/hmm/

This one includes a section about syringing your own ears at home which may be best avoided by the squeamish.https://mtmcguire.co.uk/2020/03/22/li...
Otherwise ... enjoy.
