Ronald (rpdwyer) | 550 comments I came across a list of Aickmanesque films:

I find this list very interesting. The movies on the list I have seen:
Carnival of Souls
L'Immortelle
Don't Look Now
Picnic At Hanging Rock
The Tenant
Berberian Sound Studio

One movie I would add to the list is The Blue Light (1932).

It might still be available on YouTube.
What motivated me to see the movie was that I read somewhere that Robert Aickman said that his favorite movie is _The Blue Light_. I think that movie has Aickmanesque qualities and its interesting to speculate if
this movie inspired Aickman's brand of fiction.

The lead actress/writer/director of the movie later became notorious.

What a great list! I've seen some of these, but not all, and hope to see the rest sometime. I like Carnival of Souls a lot and have my own copy. Also really like the Daphne Du Maurier short story Don't Look Now is based on.
