Ely Reign of Snakes
Collected Poems
Citizen: An American Lyric
Les Fleurs Du Mal - Flowers of Evil
Sonnets to Orpheus
Eight New-Generation African Poets: A Chapbook Box Set (do I... count this as eight separate books? Instinct says yes so I can review each author on their own merit.) 8/8
Love poems from the greek anthology

Bone Tongue: A Collection of Poetry
That's good to be getting on with, I think.
Ely Letters From Medea
Slow Lightning
Wishing for Birds

I've been missing in action, I know! I'm dealing with thesis work, and ALSO I'm moving, so you may not see me around very often until late March.

I LOVE SLOW LIGHTNING. I hope you do, too.

I'm VERY excited about it! I'm reading it the week of March 19th in a "read together" with a friend. :)
Jenna Now that I actually look at it, I love your whole reading list. Millay's Collected Poems? The Sonnets to Orpheus? You have a great year ahead of you :-)

Oh man, thanks - that's always good validation to hear about the choices I've made. :)
Ely Officially halfway through reading & reviewing Eight New-Generation African Poets: A Chapbook Box Set! And actually, two books away from finishing all first-time read-throughs. Whoof. What a project.
Ely Uh, so, I may have bought some new poetry books today? <_<

The Blue Estuaries
Black Maria: Poems Produced and Directed by Kevin Young
Jenna Oh yay! I've been toying with the idea of reading a whole book by Louise Bogan for a very long time, but for some reason never have gotten around to it. I so admire her craft, her cadence, and her short poem "Several Voices Out of a Cloud" is a longtime favorite. I like the diversity of poetic styles on your reading list.
Ely Guyyyyyys I'm so close to finishing the New-Generation African Poets project! I'm in the middle of writing up my last review and a summation.

Also, Jenna, I will be reviewing Bogan here probably sometime in the summer. I'm lokoing forward to it - and thank you for the link to that poem, it's gorgeous.
Ely I did it! I finished my first lengthy poetry reading project of the year. I probably only have one more in me of those since it did take me 5 months, so stay tuned as to which.

I'm also actually way behind on writing reviews so you might see a sudden flurry of things by me.

New books to my list:
A Thousand Mornings (Hilariously, I read this right before I moved the 2nd time and never got around to writing the review and had to return it to the library. Whoops. I'll work my way back around to it).
I Am Not a War
The Ground I Stand on Is Not My Ground
Selected Poems
Ely The short version of the story is that I had to move again and then got really very, very sick. On the other hand, I have an entire box of poetry books waiting for me. So that bodes well coming soon!
Jenna Oh, dear, I hope you get well soon!
Jen Hi Shona. I'm a lapsed admin so I'm not sure we've met. But it looks like you made a good crack at the goal this year, especially considering the challenges you faced. Hope to see you back in 2018.
