The book is targeted at adult readers. Don't worry, that's not a euphemism for erotica, or gratuitous violence. However, I wouldn't be comfortable with anyone under 18 reading it, and definitely not under 16.

So why did I pen this sci-fi? I believe we live in an age of fundamentalism, where extreme views threaten to plunge the world into self-perpetuating hate. The book’s central theme explores how empathy defines our humanity, and the risks that follow our diminishing ability to connect with others. It’s an ambitious message, and one that will never see a big audience (at least not with my book), but one that's worth writing about; especially now the world’s most powerful politicians openly trade in hate and present lies as “alternative facts” without pause or shame.
