Colleen | 5 comments Hi Ariel,

I was wondering if you would be interested in reading to review this contemporary romance? The book isn't out until early Jan '22, but I would be happy to send you the pre-published electronic version (ePub or PDF) in exchange for an honest review. The title is Misguided Perceptions. Set in London (UK), it is a modern reimagined version of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, with a difference: the lead gender roles are reversed.

The cover is still in design phase, but here is the Goodreads link to the book for further info. Misguided Perceptions.

If you are interested, please email me at hyacinthpromo@gmail.com.

This offer is extended to anyone else who sees this post and is interested.

Thanks and best wishes,
Colleen C. Moore

message 168: by J. (new)

J. Ritchie (jedwardritchie) Hi Ariel,

I'd love for you to review my fantasy epic, The Murder of Heracles: an Amazon Odyssey. Here's some more info, let me know if you're interested:

The Murder of Heracles An Amazon Odyssey by J. Edward Ritchie

The Amazons are in exile. Fifteen years after the Greek legend Heracles decimated their civilization, Penthesilea (Pen) and her sisters set off on an odyssey across land and sea with one goal: revenge. Succeed, and the Amazons will be restored. Fail, and be condemned to extinction.

Bridging history and myth, The Murder of Heracles: an Amazon Odyssey (111,000 words, June 13th 2023) is grounded by an emotional core about estranged sisters bonding anew while reclaiming their power and identities…but vengeance always has a cost. After years of hardship and isolation, the company’s choices will define who they are not only as warriors but also as friends, mothers, lovers, and daughters. Many male authors stumble in this respect, so I set out to tell a story focused on women while embracing the universal experiences of humanity that connect us all regardless of race, gender, sexuality, or religion.

Before shifting my focus to novels, I spent over a decade as a screenwriter specializing in fantasy, world creation, and all things genre. That experience gave my prose a fast-paced, cinematic style with hints of literary elegance. Because The Murder of Heracles deals with the corrosive nature of obsession and revenge, it contains moments of violence geared towards adult readers. Coupled with language and some sexuality, I’d compare it to an R-rated movie.

Jade Hey!

I wrote a story about a woman who has to choose between her dream job and her goal weight. It’s called Daphne Duncan Can’t Lose. Would you be interested in receiving a free advance copy ARC in exchange for a review? Review would need to go up first week of August 2023! It’s about 15k words.

Synopsis:

Will Daphne Duncan be the first woman in history to lose a promotion due to being hangry?

Daphne Duncan is finally about to achieve her ultimate dream: getting promoted to Vice President of Digital Marketing at RocketDog. But her euphoria is derailed when she goes to her doctor for a routine checkup only to learn she’s gained twenty pounds—twenty pounds! Daphne is determined to lose the weight, and embarks on a trendy celebrity diet, The Hallucination Diet.

From there, the plot thickens—literally. Despite Daphne’s best efforts to consume only limitless kale, she gains two pounds. When she should be applying all her considerable brainpower to securing the final account that will seal her promotion, she’s unable to concentrate—how can she when she’s so hungry her CEO’s head looks like a plate of pancakes with syrup?

Things go from bad to worse when Daphne finds out her archnemesis, Tiffani Sneider is also up for the Vice President promotion, despite her complete lack of qualifications. No way is Daphne letting HR Barbie come for everything she’s worked so hard to build. To make matters worse, Daphne gets asked to be a bridesmaid in her friend Cadence’s wedding…in a strapless dress next to three stick-thin cousins.

In the end, Daphne will have to make the hardest decision of all: figuring out what she really wants for herself, not what society tells her she needs to be.

Thanks so much for your consideration! We can do PDF if that's best for you

Maia's mother goes out to search for him, only to call Maia in a panic and urge her to hide her father's research notes from the organization he worked for. In the ensuing chaos, Maia learns that her father was hiding much more than he let on, and now one of his most dangerous experiments is threatening to undo the very magic that surrounds them. Armed with only her wits, a best friend with draconic ancestry, and a handsome Fey heir, Maia sets out to find her parents and prevent a magical disaster. But there's more to this mystery than she realizes, and her father may have run afoul of the infamous Witch Queen...

Thank you!
