Sarah | 23 comments Hi guys!

I am a blog reviewer in the process of reviving my blog. I went on a hiatus and it is time to get back on the wagon.

I am open to all genres, as I am trying to venture outside of my comfort zone! I also am trying to get myself started as an audiobook narrator and I am needing to gain some experience so I am here for that. I have experience with beta-reading as well.

If you have something you think I would enjoy, or need a narrator/beta-reader shoot me a private message!!

Thanks,
Sarah

Welcome Chris Meads to our group. She has told me she enjoys,"I mostly review middle grade and younger kids books (like yours) but also like cozy mysteries, especially those that have an animal (favorite is cats--read off and on the Joe Grey series and of course Rita Mae Brown). I have a lot of the Indie ones on my kindle and computer. I also like mysteries as well. I also like stories with dragons, elves, dwarves and wizards."

Thanks for joining Chris.;)

Hello Gayle,

I'd love to be put on your book list if you're interested in memoirs... My books are shot, laid-back and funny (I hope!). In essence: what it's been like for a Polish-Canadian to immigrate to Germany :) If you'd like to see them first/read a summary they are available here:

Doing Germany was hilarious. I had such a good time reading it, I bought book 2 as soon as I finished the first one. Agniezka's wry sense of humor was universal to every country and every gender.

I always said that never hurt- It makes people realize that real people are reading your books- you are not getting friends to review. Some people are motivated to read a book based on the negative comments to see if they agree.

Books are subjective to a person's likes and dislikes. Most people realize that and don't let a negative review knock down your confidence. I think on a scale of ONE to TEN, I'd give them a two- SO, if you don't know what that means- look up my list of books and check it out!!!

message 75: by Groovy (new)

Groovy Lee Welcome, Shelly.

Encouraging words, Carole. I agree. My daughter once said that's why she reads books with negative reviews; and then she realizes she actually liked the story. I cringe when I see my ratings go down, but I know negative reviews can help. They're a badge of honor, I was once told.

BTW, your first fan's name is the same as my daughter's first name. I was surprised when I saw that in the acknowledgement of one of your books:)

Lori Lopez (lorirlopez) | 3 comments Hi, Melanie and Gayle, Grady and Ariel! Also Sarah, Dominic, and Shelly!

Welcome! I just joined the group, seeking reviews. I've published a variety of books (novels, novellas, stories and collections, dark and light verse) and most of my titles (except for the free ones) have too few. I write horror and fantasy, poetry, speculative fiction . . . A lot of my work contains humor, suspense, depth, and offbeat characters. :) Here are some of my newer releases, my Amazon Page and Goodreads Profile. I can provide P.D.F. copies for any of my tales. Thank you!

message 89: by Wolfen (new)

Wolfen (wolfenm) | 39 comments Hail and well-met, Ariel, Grady, Gayle, Melanie, and anyone else who is interested in reviewing!

I'm working on a fantasy storyverse I call Gaiankind, featuring retellings of mythology, folklore, and classic literature. There are two works published so far (each part of a different subseries):

The Drosselmeir Chronicles: The Solstice Tales (a 2-novella anthology) - Some stories aren't quite as you've previously read them. Uncle Drosselmeier was so much more than a human who tinkered with clockworks, and the Nutcracker was no mere cursed boy. The faeries in the so-called "Land of the Dolls" weren't made of sugarplums, nor were the brownies made of chocolate. Even Marie (aka Clara) turned out to be more than she seemed. And Drosselmeier, Marie, and the nutcracker's adventures didn't exactly end the morning after the battle with the seven-headed Mouse King. No, Marie's life amongst the Gaiankind, beings of magic, had just begun ....

Meanwhile, Jacob Marley's dealings with Ebenezer Scrooge, the love of his life, did not actually stop after the announcement of the pending arrival of three Ghosts and a last chance at redemption. For that matter, the Ghosts weren't exactly Spirits at all, but rather three Gaiankind on a mission to save more than one soul that night....

Keltair's Ride (Hunt for the Shadowmakers #1) (WARNING! This is erotica) - Follow the late-12th-century adventures of sidhe thief Keltair and his púca companion, Dulaine, as they hunt for the Shadowmakers, magic rings that can bring shadows to life -- with potentially disastrous consequences. And, well, the pair may just indulge in a romantic conquest or thirty along the way. After all, few (be they male or female) are immune to Keltair's charms -- sometimes to Dulaine's annoyance. The pair are aided in their work by Farrell (innkeeper, Captain of the Guard, and head of the local Thieves Guild in their hometown), as well as by Farrell's wife, Eibhleann, a woman with a fair amount of magical talent ....

In this particular erotic novella, Keltair (who hopes this mission will lead to a ménage à quatre), Dulaine, and Farrell are hired to help a man retrieve a family heirloom -- but certain aspects of the job may not be quite what they've been led to believe. Will Keltair's libido land them in hot water?

If any of that intrigues you, you can learn more about Gaiankind here -- there' are links in the Store to read it all for free at Archive of Our Own, or PM me and I can send a PDF. :)

Valentina (valentinarcs) | 3 comments Hi, if anyone is interested, I have a short story (about 8k)

"You’re not going to die. It’ll pass in a few minutes. Two more blocks. Breathe, just breath. Focus. Don’t lose focus. Keep going."

19-year-old Alicia feels trapped by her own mind. Everyday is a challenge, every thought is a torture. Until she meets an unusual new friend.

Brown Eyes is short story about overcoming fears, never giving up and realizing things do get better.

Adam Thielen | 7 comments Just released my second book, and I'm hoping to do better with reviews than last round.

Integral takes place in a near future corporatocracy inhabited by the magically gifted and the cursed, but stays grounded inside the story of a pair of detectives, a fugitive, and a warden and how they get mixed up together.

Longer Description:

Alive since before the Great Collapse, Matthias and Frank are coasting through life as agents for the Noxcorp investigations division when a strange murder jeopardizes nocturnals’ place in the new world order. Polar opposites, the two vampires must work together to find the real killer else face the wrath of the council.

Charles is a warden of the university tasked with recovering one of its students, one of its prisoners, one of its mages. But Sandra is no ordinary mage. Her body defies the laws of physics, and she has been preparing for this moment for her entire life.

Paths cross when the university requests the assistance of Noxcorp. But when the agents discover that Sandra had outside help, a simple fugitive recovery quickly turns complicated, and all four find themselves caught in the middle of a deadly power grab.
