Though Jack and Fiona have an attraction to each other, their relationship is plagued with mistrust. Was it more Fiona carrying baggage or Jack's slippery slope with the truth?

Both equally.

They are quite a pair. Between Fiona's aloofness and Jack's economy with the truth, it isn't surprising that they had issues. I found it difficult to connect with them as individuals because of this.

Agree with both of you. As a couple, they've got a lot to work through still by the end of the book.

I've read this whole series so this was a re-read for me and I ended up thinking "wow she's gotten better at the romance part" because I didn't particularly buy into the "feelings" between Fiona and Jack
