Why is Louisa able to reach Will when so many others could not?

As mentioned earlier, she had initiative and drive that "maybe" if she could do things that would make his last months more interesting, perhaps he would change his mind.

I don't think any of the other people made any special efforts to create interest of make his days different, than just staying in the annex.

Cheryl | 134 comments I THINK THAT LOU'S "GIVE-A-DAMN" FACTOR WAS SOMEWHAT MANUFACTURED. SHE HAD TO CARE ABOUT SOMETHING OR SOMEONE SINCE EVERYONE IN HER FAMILY HAD WRITTEN HER OFF BUT THEY STILL DEPENDED (SELFISHLY) ON HER PAYCHECK. THE EXPECTED HER TO BE A DOORMAT, AND SHE LIVED UP TO THAT. EVERYTHING FRIGHTENED HER, AND THEY ALL USED IT AGAINST HER UNTIL SHE HAD LOST HERSELF.
