Jan Wolf (CoyoteJ) | 5 comments You guys successfully solved Crooked Little Vein for me! Thank you!

This one, I don't remember too much about except that the male protagonist was very much caught up in his own head when he encountered the Nazi regime/eugenics. I remember an elaborate feast scene that had a cake baked inside a duck inside a chicken inside a turkey... or something similar, way, way over the top. When they sliced the meal, everything was clearly layered. It was insane! That was my introduction to "tofurky turducken", but I'm pretty sure they didn't use that phrase. "Tofurky turducken cake Nazis" would easily solve it all if it returned anything!

I also remember an image involving eugenics and blonde Aryan women breastfeeding their Aryan children, for all the good that does...

I found the book on Firewater.tv, which has since been removed from the Internet Archive.

Any leads are very, very welcome!

Tab (tabbrown) | 5084 comments What genre was this? Historical fiction, dark humor, etc?

How many years ago did you read/hear about this book?

Anything about the cover?

What is Firewater.tv? When you say you found the book there, do you mean you read about it there, or it was for sale there and you bought it, or you read the actual book online there? Is this a paper book or an ebook or something else?

Jan Wolf (CoyoteJ) | 5 comments Firewater.tv was a message board for fans of the band Firewater with Todd A., not to be confused with another Firewater. They released The Ponzi Scheme. Former incarnation: Cop Shoot Cop.

I read about the book there, where the forum moderator recommended it in a thread. It's a paper book.

Unfortunately, their robots.txt file excludes it from the Internet Archive.

Jan Wolf (CoyoteJ) | 5 comments It could even be Mother Night by Kurt Vonnegut. I recognize the author even if I don't recognize the title, but damn if some of that storyline doesn't sound familiar.

I'll check it out from the library.

If that's it, then thanks, you've all helped me to answer my own (second) question!

Justanotherbiblophile | 1814 comments On the plus-side, once we do figure out which book it is, GR doesn't have a robots.txt exclusion, so the phrase "Tofurky turducken cake Nazis" will easily solve the next person with your question's problem via google :)
