Amy Hamilton | 2560 comments When I've been looking for promotion I've seen stacks of places you can put a free or 99p book.

Amy Hamilton | 2560 comments Out of my budget I'm afraid. But not surprised by the cost.

You'll get there Amy. You wait and see- you'll be on the front cover one day!

That's my middle name. But all I ever see is rainbows and unicorns.

Nobody started out with less than we did, Amy, we were so poor I brought my son home from the hospital and we had no heat. I couldn't afford the oil. I called crying and the guy filled the tank- I paid it off-it took forever- but never forgot his kindness.
People say that life is a circle- it's not. It a road that has dips and potholes. Sometimes you're on the autobahn, and sometimes you're driving on unpatched asphalt. You have to enjoy the good times, take a deep breath on the rough patches and know they will end, because they always do.

Nah- just experience- no matter how bad it is- it always ends. I promise.

Alexis | 861 comments Ok I'm back. Now, this was hastily done.

We would have one homepage.

And each genre would have a little thumbnail (different image, not greyscale, I just used what I had) like the YOUNG ADULT one that page.

When you click there, you will see ALL THE young adult books.
When you click on each book, you'll see the blurb, the price AND a handy GO TO AMAZON purchase button.

Go check it out
Link is gone.>

You're a genius, Alexis- So now what do we do next?? Is there a place where we all should dump the books we want to feature? Should we start a thread with the info so it won't get lost in conversation?

message 61: by Alexis (new)

Alexis | 861 comments Did you click on the thumbnail to lead to the covers? That is a good cover you got there sir lol.

Thanks Carole. Yes, a new thread seems like a good idea. Will you make one?

message 62: by Alexis (new)

Alexis | 861 comments Definitely.
We can get a free wordpress blog and do this.
I would love it if somebody else (or two somebodies) would volunteer to come up with text that can be used on the website. Like for example, to describe what the event is about, taglines for the different genres etc.

We need to post a date and even name it- Like Spring Reading

Fall in to a Book

Holiday

Beach Reads? What to you think? Or too much???

That is so kind of you, Carole!
We can set up a rafflecopter and people can enter to win by tweeting about the event, posting about it on facebook etc

Ember-Raine Winters (ember-raine_winters) | 186 comments I have just been reading this and not commenting but I had an idea. I just used my countdown deal for a romance promo for Valentine's Day so I won't be able to go to 0.99 until mid-may but I was thinking has anyone had success with thunderclap? If you get 100 people to participate in it they promote your event for free. That could be something to think about. I have never used it myself but I have participated in a few. Just an idea! Alexis as usual it looks amazing! I'm not great with slogans or I would definitely volunteer!

Great- Then I can send the winner directly from Amazon along with ONE free book from one of us- Like a grand prize? Can we make it where they leave comments and we'll select one lucky winner to get one of the featured books?

message 67: by Carole (new)

Carole P. Roman | 4665 comments Mod
You don't need a countdown deal, right, guys-

message 68: by Alexis (last edited Feb 22, 2017 11:46PM) (new)

Alexis | 861 comments Carole wrote: "You don't need a countdown deal, right, guys-"

No. It can just be books priced at regular prices as well. We can give the books that are free or on sale a banner at the top that says free.

I did it here just now: LINK REMOVED

Carole P. Roman | 4665 comments Mod
We can link it to Amazon right? Should we list more links like out Facebook or other social media- I don't know if that's too hard?

Hey, that's a good idea. We can put each author's facebook, twitter, website on their books page. No, I can do that easily as well.

Maybe a general name and then we can use your suggestions as taglines??

I think we have to avoid the week of the holiday- people go away.

Yes I agree Alexis- tag lines are a better idea.
I think we have to make sure people are members of our group and limit it to one book" Your thoughts?

LOL- I guess they have to be a member to comment on one of our thread?
