Francesca | 460 comments This is a topic where you can discuss all things about our house and/or the other houses!

Here are some examples of topics to do with Hufflepuff but, of course, any topic can be discussed here and if you think of anything else you'd like to say go ahead.

Who is/are your favourite Hufflepuffs?
Who is/are your least favourite Hufflepuffs?
What are your least favourite Hufflepuff stereotypes?
Which Hufflepuff stereotypes do you actually love?
Which of the other houses is you favourite/least favourite?
Which characters from the other houses could you also see as being Hufflepuffs?

If you answer any of these questions, remember to give reasons why. It gives the conversation more to build from and it's always helpful/interesting to see people's reasoning.

Mary Catelli Cedric is my favorite Hufflepuff. With Susan Bones, despite her having only moments to shine as a second.

and personally, I think Scorpius at least was a definite Hufflepuff. Possibly Albus as well.

Betsy | 8 comments Newt Scammander was a Hufflepuff too!!!! We're starting to grow in popularity!

Cedric is my favourite too and it's strange but I was always drawn to Susan Bones. I felt an odd sort of connection towards her even when I first read the book and wasn't entirely sure why because she wasn't heavily featured and we didn't know a massive amount about her. I wish JK Rowling would write another feature on Pottermore or somewhere giving more information and background on some of the other Hufflepuff's who were mentioned but not really featured.

I completely agree about Scorpius. When I read Cursed Child, all I could think was how did he get sorted into Slytherin when he seems so clearly like a Hufflepuff.

I know! I was thrilled when I found out he was a Hufflepuff. Having a Hufflepuff as the lead character in a movie is fantastic because it finally gives us a real chance to shine. We didn't get many opportunities in the Harry Potter series as there were no main characters from our House so we got overlooked a lot.

Francesca | 460 comments Also, did you know that Dwayne Johnson himself is a self proclaimed Hufflepuff?! :D

Mary Catelli Hmmm. . . I had forgotten that Tonks was Hufflepuff. So, of course, was Teddy Lupine.

Me too! Except, they've got Cho Chang's name there next to Sprout's; wasn't Chang a Ravenclaw?

I didn't even notice that! Yes, she's a Ravenclaw so her name shouldn't be there.

The Book Granny (thebookgranny) That's a tough question. I would have to say Tonka from the original 7 books. Newt would be pretty high up there for all time Hufflepuffs.

message 13: by The Book Granny (new)

The Book Granny (thebookgranny) I always wished that the books included a description of the common room. I know that it was described later, but I wish I could have lived vicariously through one of the characters for my first visit.

Maybe Meet can have a flashback in one of the Fantastic Beast sequels. One can only hope.

The Book Granny (thebookgranny) grrr...meet=Newt. Autocorrect.

Elissa | 18 comments Who is/are your favourite Hufflepuffs?
Nymphadora Tonks. No competition. She is a strong female character, who is funny,(um...pig like nose at the dinner table anyone!!) and intelligent (auror training is not easy :-) )
Who is/are your least favourite Hufflepuffs?
I don't know. Hufflepuffs are all around awesome, but if I had to choose a least favorite I would choose Ernie McMillan, he can be a jerk sometimes
What are your least favourite Hufflepuff stereotypes?
That we are boring. I hate that! Was Tonks, Newt, or Cedric boring? Even McMillan was not boring. We are kind, INTERESTING people.
Which Hufflepuff stereotypes do you actually love?
I don't like stereotypes in general, but if I had to choose one to like it would be that we are kind.
Which of the other houses is you favourite/least favourite?
Griffendoors. They are wrapped up in their own problems, never noticing other people. They are also attention seeking, rude, and inconsiderate. I am not saying that as a stereotype, that is just how Harry is. Maybe I just don't like Harry :-)
Which characters from the other houses could you also see as being Hufflepuffs?
Ron. He is loyal to the end, and I can see Sirius Black in Hufflepuff. He is vary loyal to James.

Kelly | 14 comments 1. Tonks, definitely. I don't think she was a 'typical' Hufflepuff, which made her so much more endearing. I also like Susan Bones and Hannah Abbott, despite not knowing too much about them.
2. I don't know if I have a least favourite.
3. Being boring or the 'worst' house in many ways. It's just not true. Though I'm glad to see so many fun articles on Pottermore giving us a fair chance. :)
4. In contrast, I love the loyal and kind part.
5. Slytherin. There is no reason for anyone to be that mean or selfish, ect- though I know not all Slytherins are all the time.
6. Maybe Sirius. And Neville and/or Luna.

It's a tie between Cedric Diggory and Newt Scamander.
