Pay It Forward

We hope that you will pay it forward by reading a group member's book. If you do, please leave the book title and author below. Let's spread some good cheer!
ExposedI read Exposed by Alex last week (yes I actually finished reading something)
I really enjoyed the "I didn't see that coming, now I get it" moment. I like those. I will attempt to write a review at some point, but reviews take me longer to write than novels, so no breath holding. And yes Alex that character has legs you could write more for that one.
I left reviews for Erica Graham (Sam's sticky sucker) and The Lover's Portrait from Jennifer S. Alderson. Trying to pick up more this week.

Thank you for the great review Lucia! I am glad you and your 5 year old enjoyed it. :)

Whoops, I should have noted this information when I joined the group. So in the interest of full-disclosure, here's the list of books I've read and reviewed written by members of this group:Davenport House by Marie Silk
R. E. birth by Thomas Everson
Follow Me, Sweet Darling by Amanda Siegrist
The Rainbow Serpent by Lyra Shanti
How to P!ss Off The Customers by Rovannyn Shaw
Stillness by Eldon Farrell
Chemistry by C. L. Lynch
I tried to list these in order in which I read them. I've read many other indie books and have even more lined up to read, several written by authors in this group. When I do, I'll post a review here on GR and on Amazon. Hugs!!
You don't have to disclose that stuff, Sue. The threads are flexible and it's great you give your time to indies. It's a wonderful thing that you have prior interaction and experience with people. Anyone would be grateful for a review and you don't owe any explanations. Hugs back.
Oh, thank you Carole! Just wanting to be open and honest. Snagged a bunch of freebies at the book event, so more R & R's to come. Hugs!! ; )

Wow, Sam, your plate is full. HAPPY READING!
Finally finished Amy's book, Modified! Sorry it took so long, I just don't like ebooks so whenever I get sidetracked by a paperback my ebooks languish for a while until I can get back to them. Review is here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Brilliant thank you so much, I forgot it was funny! All the commas are in the latest version which came out yesterday. I had a re-edit last week. ETA I think I have requested an update via the content and devices bit on Amazon. Unless there's another way for me to get the new cover on my phone. The old one annoys me now it's not current.

Huzzah!
If you write scifi or fantasy can you link me your book? I would love to read it. Please nothing with eroticism or too much romance though... I'm kind of shy about that stuff. I won't even write it into my books.

Yes I actually do get some cash, but that's awesome to hear either way :) Thanks so much Steven. I hope you enjoy. I'm still new to the genre and trying to improve.
David wrote: "Yes I actually do get some cash, but that's awesome to hear either way :) Thanks so much Steven. I hope you enjoy. I'm still new to the genre and trying to improve."I just want to warn you though I give honest critiques. I don't write enough reviews on Goodreads (I need to though,) but I don't like BS reviews. I received a lot of them myself from friends and family with my first book and I value them a lot less than my friend Carrie who was direct and to the point about my book.
That doesn't mean I'm out to hurt you though. I would never give anyone less than three stars and if I didn't like something I simply wouldn't write a review on it. If you worked hard on your book then it's a labor of love and you probably don't need someone to be an asshole to you.
But most authors, I can find plenty of reasons why I think their book is good or why I think they should keep writing so I doubt you'll hear me say something otherwise.
That makes sense enough. I always appreciate honest reviews. They're the best ways to help me improve, and that's what's most important right now. I agree with what you said in regards to reviews.

David wrote: "That makes sense enough. I always appreciate honest reviews. They're the best ways to help me improve, and that's what's most important right now. I agree with what you said in regards to reviews."Hey quick question because I checked your author bio and I'm reading through chapter 1. I'm impressed that you wrote a book while in high school and I'm curious about your process. Did you hire a copy editor or developmental editor or did you do all the edits between you and your friends/family?
I did the preliminary edits with me and my family. Then I had a professional look at it. So a little of both. It's the longest book I've written, so the editing phase was a bit more chaotic than normal, but we managed alright. I think, besides my editor, there were 5 pairs of eyes going over it.
I'm impressed. With as much as I read, I couldn't have written a book this size when I was in high school.

Hi Steven, how can I resist! Would you count time travel as fantasy? The theme of the book is 'they say that on your death bed it's the things you haven't done that you regret most'. Main character goes back in time to set something right.
Here's the US Amazon link.

It's on Kindle Unlimited and it's not erotic. Bit more of an adventure really.
Thank you for your consideration.

Absolutely! In fact I love time travel stories!
I'm reading the new Eric Flint, Griffin Barber 1636: Mission to Mughals book today as well.

I think what I found most interesting is you can see how you grow as a writer as the story progressed. I pointed this out in my review and I hope it's not too harsh.

Thank you so much. It's set in England, so you'll be transported in time and place. Some of the incidents are based on truth, particularly the historical incidents.
Looks great Steven I really appreciate it! I've definitely got some work to do before the next one in the series, but I feel confident.
Anna and Kay give me a few days. I have to review a friends book this weekend. He needs iTunes reviews, then I'll get to reading your work.
It's a good story Alex. I must put my reviews back up. I'm not very good at reviews. Never know what to say beyond "yeah I enjoyed that." I guess that's because I'm only aiming for that with my books.
Steven wrote: "Anna and Kay give me a few days. I have to review a friends book this weekend. He needs iTunes reviews, then I'll get to reading your work."There's absolutely no rush, Steven. I am just so grateful you want to read it at all.
Alex wrote: "If it makes you feel any better, I don't aim for literary greatness with my books, I just want to entertain and make some money. "You took the words right out of my fingertips.
Groovy's book Cause She's a Good Girl is a book I've been able to recommend to a dozen or so GR friends and I recommend it here. I could feel it tugging at my emotions right from the start.Short review posted because the carefully constructed one I was doing each time I read a bit more has gone missing. Big piece of pink paper - how can this happen? I'm so cross with myself.
I recently read The Baby on the Back Porch: A Short Story by Lucia N. Davis and really enjoyed it! It's a great set up for a new series.

Just finished Mel Parish's Silent Lies, and planning to read the sequel next. I have recently discovered this world of indie authors, and enjoy not being alone in this struggle anymore! I was featured on Erica Graham's author page today, and will definitely keep paying it forward and connecting with fellow indie authors.
