Please list the book you intend to read or recommendations for this category.

Cate (The Professional Fangirl) (chaostheory08) | 21 comments I have a lot - A LOT - of Japanese fiction on my shelves. Right now, I have Salvation of a Saint on there by Keigo Higashino. But that can change since I plan to read one Japanese book per month.

Thanks, Elyse. I actually have a hold on that through the library. My initial plan was to use My Brilliant Friend (translated from Italian) but now I have another option. :-)

Edited:
Based on your comment, I just realized A Man Called Ove (also by Fredrik Backman) would also work for this category. I'll likely use that instead.

All of Fredrik Backman's books are amazing!! I've read all but Britt-Marie. And he's got a new one coming out soon, Beartown.

Teresa I didn't realize My Brilliant Friend was translated. Yay, because it's already in my TBR list.

Teresa I ended up reading A Climate of Fear by the French author Fred Vargas. She has won awards for her crime fiction. I waited about 2 years for my library to stock any of her books. I was the first and only person on the waiting list, lol.
A Climate of Fear is about a police chief solving current murders that seem to relate to the French Revolution and Reign of Terror. I liked how she wove in the historical stuff.

Stina (stinalyn) | 29 comments Several people have recommended A Man Called Ove to me, so I might do that one.

Therese | 46 comments I just finished Veronika Decides To Die by Paulo Coelho, a book set in a mental hospital in Slovenia inspired by things he went through as a young man. It was a free book and still left me something to think about.
