#7. A Book Set In A Place You Want To Visit

I am going to read The Pope's Ceiling by Ross King. I have read him before, and Italy would be a grand place to visit. So much history.

So far, I've read only Untitled. The book wasn't that good, but I do want to visit Cornwall someday as well as go back to London.

I read The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao, which takes place mostly in the Dominican Republic.

I read Eels: An Exploration, from New Zealand to the Sargasso, of the World's Most Mysterious Fish by James Prosek which takes place in the Catskills, New Zealand, and the island of Pohnpei in Micronesia. I think I'd like to visit all three. And, yes, eels. I expected to read this as a reference book, not as a page-turner. But I loved reading about the culture surrounding eels around the world. It was more fascinating than you'd imagine.

I've just read Persona for a book club, and next month's book is The House of Shattered Wings. Both are set in Paris, a city I would love to visit again.

I wanted to like House of Shattered Wings so much but it was very disjointed and painfully hard to get through. :( But you may enjoy it! I loved the cover.

Currently I'm reading Michelangelo and the Pope's Ceiling by Ross King about the Sistine Chapel and how ceiling got painted. This is not fiction and has a lot of history and it, and if you like history and/or art-history, you will appreciate this book set in the Vatican.

I'm planning on reading Love and Gelato for this one. It might also be good for a "romance that takes place during travel."

I read Echoes In Death by J. D. Robb. It's set in (future) New York City. I want to stand in the rain and feel how different it is from the desert rain where I live.
