Carol Mann I loved the ending of this book. I thought is was brilliant. If he escaped to Paris to be with his daughter it would have been very Hollywood. That he instead went to his ancestral home and met with the love of his life was very unexpected and made perfect sense. When we cannot predict an ending and it is a happy one, it is very satisfying.

Valerie, I'm sorry that this response is 3 years later, but, having just finished the book and well past my Book Club date, I wanted to share with someone, too. However, your summary of A Gentleman in Moscow, says it all! It helped frame the story for me and gave me closure as well. And while I don't smoke any longer, I'm satisfied. TY!

I strongly believe it is Anna. After several months for it to settle on me I loved the ending. I will read this book again.

Amina Even though the protagonist is trapped in a hotel and hangs out with his little friend, the book is just so vivid. What do you think made this book so enchanting?

Khushboo It took me six months to complete reading first 100 or so pages and when I was around 60-70 page I joked it as a sleeping peel because the moment I started reading it I felt sound asleep. But as I turned 101st page the remaining book was completed in almost 2 days. Amar Towels has done a remarkable job. Learnt so many things from the book 📖 I just wish count and Anna Lived with Sofia in the USA because how was little Sofia going to live alone in the big country. And also wish knew about Nina or is it to be concluded that people suddenly disappearing was perhaps normal in Russia back then??
