Nik Krasno | 19865 comments Ok, guys, three days to go.
If you are invited, are you already checking your wardrobe for your newest tux or most worn jeans?
If not, what's the plan? To throw a small party: caviar and champagne? To pray in the face of the unknown, potentially disastrous? To hope that papers granting permanent residency somewhere at least 5k miles away from the States arrive before Jan 20? -:) To watch emotionlessly?

Graeme Rodaughan I'll be doing something else. Reading, writing, working, sleeping, etc.

Bernard Boley (bernard_boley) | 126 comments I don't know if I'll be able to get here on cable TV in Merida, Mexico, but I'd like to see how he makes a fool of himself one more time during such an important event. It's the beginning of Idiocracy, part 2.

Ian Miller | 1857 comments I am sure TV will be laden with clips later. Catch selected lowlights rather than wade through the lot.

Mike | 181 comments I'm going to have some wine and cue up a tracklist of Trump-related music.

For example:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YoQ4a...

"I raised the wall...and I will be the one to knock it down..."

Full tracklist available upon request.

J.J. Mainor | 2440 comments Still too early to judge, but this pair of Marines they're using when Trump first arrives to greet the Obamas sure are getting a lot of screen time...

What's funny, is I'm seeing these two being memed on some military sites...

Mike | 181 comments did anyone else's eyes get moist at the invokations of our 'rusted-out buildings scattered like tombstones across the landscape', or 'the windswept plains of Nebraska...'?

Mike | 181 comments pretty good summary here:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/...

"Now it is nearly time.

Donald Trump’s sons come in their limos, two by two. All the limos look like hearses, and you are the thing being buried.

Donald Trump reaches the dais and smiles.

When he speaks it begins raining, everywhere."

M.L. Good heavens, I didn't watch it! But I am watching the protests!

message 15: by Matthew (new)

Matthew Williams (houseofwilliams) I did notice the very low turnout. He tried to photoshop himself into a picture of a someone else's inauguration on his Twitter account. As he would say, FAKE, SAD!

Taken a look. Hope there will be no reason to return to these comparisons..
Mehreen has opened a thread, named 'mindset', exploring similar themes...
