ABANDONED. Time travel romance where H is a fighter/gladiator and h is his soulmate from the future?

Hi! I read this time travel romance where the heroine goes back into time, and the hero is a warrior/fighter of some sorts who has ti kill to entertain (with no free will to leave). The Gods intervened (I think) and found that the hero's soulmate was in the future and hence, sent her back in time. I can't recall most of it, but there was a scene where a goddess comes to teach the heroine latin. The heroine ends up going back and the hero follows (with tons of jewels and gems from the Goddess) for a HEA. Can someone please help me find the title? Thank you!

Was the heroine a nurse/doctor on vacation reading a book about gladiators, then fell asleep and time travelled to that era? I have a feeling I've read a short story similar to this, but don't know if it's the same one, and can't remember the title.
