Yeah, I was thinking that maybe they were friends/had a fling when she was still human (him hiding being a wolf) and then when she gets turned, they are suddenly enemies. - since werewolves and vampires naturally hate each other. I know Matt would have a lot of guilt for abandoning a friend like that, but he instinctively cannot be around her.
