Jasmine (jasmine_mf14) I've got a lot of favourite books from this book club, but if I had to choose the one I liked the most, I'd choose "Mom & Me & Mom" By Maya Angelou. I read the whole book in a day because I just couldn't put it down! I personally think that Mom & me & Mom is the best Maya Angelou book out there.

So what's your favourite book you've read from Our Shared Shelf?

-Jasmine

Jessica (longlivelibraries) | 11 comments I really enjoyed My Life on the Road. It was the first thing I've read by Gloria Steinem, and it really enhanced my awareness of intersectionality.

Cecilia (cecipena) I've only read Mom and Me and Mom so far, and it moved me. I read it in 1 day (yesterday) and I cannot stop thinking about Maya's stories and the wonderful things her mother said to her and how she made Maya feel. Ugh.. it was so great♡♡♡

Sascha (smileylymie) | 14 comments Most definitely "my life on the road", "half the sky", "the vagina monologues" and "how to be a woman". I honestly couldn't pick just one, as all moved me in different ways. I gained so much excess knowledge from these inspirational books!

Evelia | 89 comments My favorite books are Mom & Me & Mom and My Life on the Road.

message 7: by Taylor (new)

Taylor | 11 comments I really enjoyed several of the selections but if I had to pick one it would be Persepolis. I had never read a graphic novel before and was a little hesitant going in but ended up totally loving it. The story was very powerful and the graphics made it even more so.

Alyson Stone (alysonserenastone) | 149 comments I will have to say My Life on the Road and Persepolis.

message 9: by Laura (new)

Laura | 5 comments Half the Sky...it has stuck with me the most. I haven't been able to stop talking about it to people. It was difficult to read, but it was also important to read.
