I wasn't especially fond of this book. I'm an introvert that has always been comfortable with it. I disliked her premise that we all have uncomfortable feelings to overcome about the way we are. I'm sure I'm not alone in these feelings and also disliked the implication that someone would better understand me if they read this book. I realize it's a profile that fits some - possibly the majority - introverts, but I felt her emphasis was too skewed in one direction.
An interesting look at what qualities an introverted person has and how society should value introverts and extroverts. I'm definitely more of an introvert. I like small groups or one one one situations but dislike parties where I hardly know anyone and big group lunches at work. I listened to the book and sometimes it was a bit hard to follow all the studies, in this case print might work better. I especially like her discussion on how parents can help introverted children in our extroverted society. This book was tagged self improvement by several people on goodreads and I think it does fit the self improvement tag since there are lots of suggestions on how introverts can accept their nature and live happier lives.
