Looking for name of dark regency book I did read

Hey everyone!!! I am trying to find the name of a book I have read but cannot seem to remember.... Its a regency romance about a young woman who writes books and for research goes in the slums of London. At the beginninig she saves a man on the streets from beating, who is the owner of a gambling casino. In the end, they both find together. If any one could help that would be appreciated :)
