The only contest you can feel good about not winning ha ha. I actually think they should publish all of the submissions on the website so people will see that loading prose with lots of adjectives and adverbs is detrimental to their work.

Well, the first version I published of one of my first ebooks put online was marred with typos, missing words and poor proofreading. Also, I had made changes to the story midway but did not change the corrected words everywhere. I finally decided to publish a second, better proofread and edited version after an exasperated reader asked me in a post: well, is she (the main heroine) driving a Mitsubishi Outlander of a Jeep Grand Cherokee? She keeps changing cars between paragraphs! One fine example of what happens when you try to write a book late at night while fighting sleep.
