Finally getting around to this one. I just read the background on Wikipedia and it looks more interesting than I suspected. Fingers crossed.
I really liked this. I’d gone into it with the knowledge that the three parts were basically three short stories woven together to make the novel. The story is that Miller published the first two, and then realized, while working on the third, that he, in fact, had been writing a novel of sorts all along. He then decided to rework the third part, as well as some minor changes for transition, to create the novel for publication. It totally works! Each part is distinctive, yet the overall story arc is also clear.
