FAQ: Why would you want to write about a shallow girl with #FirstWorldProblems?

I've gotten this question a few times, so I'll leave this link here in case anyone is curious. It's to a blog post I wrote for Keertana back in April. The first half is about WHY I wrote the character of Lainey. The second half is about the challenges of getting an editor to buy a book with an unlikable narrator. It's also about what it feels like to put some of your own teenage mistakes about judging people and being too afraid to embrace change into a character, and finding out editors don't like her, even though she grows up by the end of the book ;-) #AwkwardFaction
