Darrell, following up on your suggestion, my husband says that the name of the 12-step program might be: BOOKAHOLICS ANONYMOUS.I'll bet there's already a group with that name... or a blog of some sort. WE ARE NOT ALONE! :)
PS - Sure enough! I googled for BOOKAHOLICS ANONYMOUS and here are the hits:https://www.google.com/#q=BOOKAHOLICS...
There's even a couple Facebook pages but they have nothing to do with feeling overwhelmed.
1. https://www.facebook.com/Bookaholics-...

Looks like there's some book-bickering out there! :)
But what would we do without them? I have been in that situation and it's better to have too many than too little. When I was staying in France in a chalet for six weeks and sometimes a month I couldn't carry enough books to get me through as then I didn't have access to a Kindle and I really got tired of re-reading the couple of books I had brought with me so enjoy the excess. While you may.
I'm obligated to read a lot for my job since I work with computers. I read a lot of technical articles & books for my hobbies & just due to general interest. I often feel somewhat obligated to read those simply to cure my own ignorance, but pleasure reading should never be an obligation which is why I don't set any reading goals. I read what I want, when I want. If a group read happens to strike a chord, I'll read it, but I don't worry if it doesn't.

I'll have to work on it. :)

It seems that books are getting to be a monkey on my back, especially now that I have so many books in my Kindle library waiting to be read. There's a fine line between opportunity and obligation. Sure, there are more and more opportunities for me to read but since I can't keep up, they are starting to feel like obligations. The easy availability of books has changed from a bonus to a burden.
How do you feel about this?
