Regine O I've never done a BR but would love to get started with one. Let me know if anybody is interested...

Jennifer (jld451) | 34 comments Hi Regine, I am interested and open to suggestions!

Regine O Great - maybe we can compare the books we have in common on out TBR lists and see which are overlapping? We could also select a Reading Challenge category and find a book that'll fit the category?

Erin (nuckolsammie) | 34 comments Hi Regine and Jennifer - I would like to participate as well, let me know what y'all are thinking. Regards

Regine O Hi Erin - sounds great.

Have you read Commonwealth by Ann Patchet? Just one of many possibible books to read...

message 6: by Hayley (new)

Hayley Hi, I would love to participate in a Buddy Read. Could I join you?

message 7: by Regine (new)

Regine O The more the merrier :-)

Is there a book you want to suggest?

message 8: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (jld451) | 34 comments Regine, I just looked at Commonwealth by Ann Patchet. This is really outside my norm but I could give it a go. I just started "What Belongs to You" and it was not a typical choice for me. I love the exposure of new books that this group brings.

Items on my TBR for suggestions:
"The Underground Railroad" by Colson Whitehead
"The Last Days of Night" by Graham Moore

Can't wait to hear everyone's thoughts.

Kind regards,
Jennifer

Hayley Would you be interested in reading "The Dog Stars" by Peter Heller or "Where'd You Go Bernadette" by Maria Semple? Re-reading the last book for book club.

message 10: by Regine (new)

Regine O I read "Where'd you go Bernadette" last year so I'd prefer one of your other suggestions. Should we start next month perhaps? I like to get books from the library and it may take a while to get one of the newer releases.

Hayley So "The Dog Stars" starting on 1 February?

message 12: by Regine (new)

Regine O I'm fine with it. What do you think Jennifer?

Jennifer (jld451) | 34 comments Count me in for "The Dog Stars"!

message 14: by Hayley (new)

Hayley Wonderful!

message 15: by Regine (new)

Regine O Do you think we should start a thread here on the group site or just do status updates with our thoughts about the book and we can then comment on each other's thoughts? We would maybe have to use the Spoiler option in our updates.

Do you want to go at your own pace or read a certain amount of pages within a certain timeframe?

message 16: by Hayley (new)

Hayley I don't know how to start a new thread but I think that would be easiest. Should we shoot for 100 pages a week?

message 17: by Regine (new)

Regine O I started a new thread. 100 pagesa week sounds good. The book is 336 pages - perfect for February.
