Tara Bates | 1008 comments Wondering how you all like to read? Do you do one book at a time? Are you the type who has several on the go at once.
I typically prefer one at a time so I can focus, but I also find I am not all that into my book club picks lately so I like to have one I'm interested in so I can continue making progress and don't get bogged down. I also like to have one on my phone at all times regardless of whether it's my main book or just one that I'm picking away at if I'm out somewhere.

Caity (adivineeternity) | 164 comments More often than not, I'll have several books going at once because I lose focus so easily. Right now I've got one I'm trying to finish that I started yesterday and three I started in 2016 that I'd like to finish. Two of those three will not be for this challenge as they don't fit any of the tasks, but one I will use.

Megan (mghrt06) | 546 comments I tend to only read one book at a time.

I've also noticed that I read e-books faster than physical books. Its so nice to have my e-book on my ipad and iphone and I can pull it out literally anywhere... Long line at the grocery store? No worries - I'll read. Taking elevator up to the 19th floor - that means like an entire page read! haha Also it helps that its on my ipad and I don't need to have an overhead light for night time.

So those are my reading habits!

Mie | 29 comments Last year I started listening to audiobooks, so now I always have 2 books going - 1 for reading and 1 for listening to.

I love physical books! But like Megan I like to read, if I am somewhere waiting for an appointment or something like that, and then e-books are more convenient :-)
I use audiobooks in the car, on outdoor walks or on the treadmill...

This way I am always ready to read :-D

Rachael (rachmo) | 67 comments I've started reading three books at a time. I have an audiobook for my walk to and from work, plus an ebook and a physical book which I switch between. The three I'm reading now all fit different prompts.

Betty Q I like to read one at a time, but right now I'm reading a few. I'm reading Pride and Prejudice for my book that's been on my tbr list the longest, and I just hate it. I can only read a little at a time-but I'm determined to finish it. I am reading Dracula for a book of letters and it's not terrible, but I'm reading that one slowly, also. Once I get those finished, I hope I'll only read one at a time. I'm slowly reading those two while I read one more, primary book.

Brooke | 273 comments I always have several books going at once. I listen to audiobooks while on my daily walk or on road trips. It seems I am always somewhere in the middle of a book over 600 pages. I read something more on the YA or "fluff" side when I don't have to concentrate so hard (while doing my hair, watching TV, etc). And when I am lucky enough to have a quiet evening or an hour to myself with coffee on a weekend morning I read something from my TBR pile.

message 8: by Lindsay (new)

Lindsay | 26 comments I have a physical book at work, and then I am always reading one on my Kindle. I also typically have a travel book on my Kindle - wherever we're going on our next adventure (right now it's Amsterdam and Brussels) . The book at work typically takes longer for me to get through than the other books. Sometimes when I'm traveling I also have an audiobook too.

message 9: by Megan (new)

Megan | 10 comments I almost never read more than book at a time because it's so hard for me to focus on what's going on with my characters . But for my more than 800 page prompt (and for another reading group), I'm reading The Count of Monte Cristo. I love the book, which is something I wasn't expecting, but to keep myself from losing interest, I'm reading other books as well!

message 10: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca Johns (b3cs) I always have several books in the go. I always have one one on audio, one on my kindle and often a third paperback. I like to switch them up, sometimes I will
Read a book cover to cover, but I like the variety of having several books to choose from depending on my mood.

message 11: by Chinook (new)

Chinook | 731 comments I used to be a one at a time reader but not anymore. Now I always have at least an audiobook and a book on my phone. Sometimes also a book on my kindle. And recently I've started reading books of short stories one story at a time between other books. So, I finish a book, I read a Gogol short story. I like it so far, so we'll see where that goes.

For all that I'm reading multiple books at a time, I do still read them in pretty large chunks. Sometimes because something is about to expire at the library or book club is coming or maybe something just really draws me in. And I seem to read a chapter or two and get distracted more often than I used to - and not because the book isn't good, either, just somehow I get diverted to other books.
