LIFE TIME BUDDY READS

Utkarsh, FL & Jayanth take on Hyperion instead
No worries. .. and if you mention the type of books... (I assume fantasy and the like) it would be great. :)
I would like to try this. Last year I got distracted and couldn't read much, maybe reading with someone else will keep me focused. I read mostly fantasy and sci fi books, and books other recommends.

I'm game for it. I plan to finish a lot of sci fi and fantasy this year

I like thrillers, fantasy and any other interesting stuff based on reviews/recommendations.
You can change the title of the thread and start off...as usual I will be peeping in here too...never can resist a BR thread :P
Me too will keep an eye on this thread. Since I know how fast FL reads, so no BR. Will use this thread to add books to my tbr. :)

Let me know if you want to start with some book and we can create a new thread. Or if you want, you can join Utkarsh and me in this, But this will be heavily fantasy laden thread
Utkarsh wrote: "awesome. let's list the books we want to read this year then pick one of them"Top of my priority list is the codex alera series of Butcher and the Ender's game saga. Also Robin Hobb's other series than the Farseer trilogy.
What's yours?
mine are Pandora's Star series and Hyperion series.in fantasy, Malazan series, Drenai saga, Dragon riders of pern, books by robbin hobb.
I'm in for any fantasy series you guys pick. I've recently started Farseer Trilogy, so anything different from such a theme, I'll probably buddy read. I've had Hyperion on my tbr for awhile. Or any Brandon Sanderson series like Mistborn(#1 The Final Empire), if you haven't already read them.

Have read Pandora's star series. It's good, monotonous at times but most space operas are. Read the Expanse series too of you haven't started. I'm up for Hyperion, Drenai or Robin Hobb.
make a call.

Hey Jayanth, we are Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson fanatics. At least I'm. Read all. More than once.
I finished Farseer last year. But looking forward to more of Hobb.
i have read first book in expense series. it was okayish. will read others later. let's read drenai saga then, i need to read some action, all my current reads are slow.
when should we start?
I too need some fast paced books :D My current reads are slow too. From the review of Drenai Saga, it looks like a faced paced book.
Utkarsh wrote: "yeah, it does. and not too big"anytime you both are ready. The question is do we read by publication date or chronological order?
chronological order. Is there a difference? i can start on Saturday, i need to finish fall of giants first.
Utkarsh wrote: "chronological order. Is there a difference? i can start on Saturday, i need to finish fall of giants first."
If we start chronologically, then it's going to be haphazard. Some books were published later than others. let's start with publication.
And a, good from Sat.
Jayanth wrote: "Even I can start on the weekend, most likely. Have two books to finish before that."Cool. Drenai starts on Sat
75% through. This book is faster than a knife through butter. Some hilarious scenes, some completely abnormal. How far is everyone?
Utkarsh wrote: "around fifty percent, the book is way too fast, some scenes don't even make sense"Tell me about it. Apparently if you stand up to a gang of bandits, you tend to get laid. Even if you met her a few hours ago. I need to live in that era.
are you done? i am not, i am not enjoying this book. Scenes and dialogues make little sense, they don't feel connected at all. i am not even sure why i am still reading it, but i will finish it soon. just to be done with it.
Utkarsh wrote: "are you done? i am not, i am not enjoying this book. I admit, there isn't extravagant world building. It's more direct and more to the point. Which part is bothering you?
i don't feel connected to characters, except Druss. everyone else seems too unreal. they just do things for plot sake. even their personality changes all of a sudden.

Okay. i am excited about this one, heard good things about it. when shall we start? i am free to start after Thursday.

1. No romance and erotica please
2. Must be a fast reader. I don't want a buddy who takes months to read a book.
3. Discussions are welcome during/after read
Anyone free for this?
Edit : Mods, if this is not the right place to post, kindly give me directions
Edit : I'm mostly a voracious fantasy and sci fi reader. However all other books are welcome except romance, erotica and specific YA books.
