I would like to close the two polls for picking a favourite read..."
I've never done this so can't help sorry Judy. If you don't belong to the Moderator Support Group (an unofficial group I've found really helpful) it might be best to ask in GR Feedback Group.

If not, maybe we can copy and paste the results in the discussion thread and just delete the poll? I have found emailing Goodreads very helpful - I once added a book with a typo and couldn't change it. An email resulted in an almost immediate response and the problem solved without any comments about how stupid I had been!

Thanks for your help, Deborah - I've tried to do this but it won't let me set an end date unless I also set a start date.
I'm wondering if it is possible to set them both to the same day - I'll have a look at this when I get home from work tonight.

Susan, many thanks for the suggestions - I think copying and pasting the results and deleting the poll might well be the answer if I can't find a way to close it. I didn't realise it was possible to email Goodreads, so might also try that tonight! And typos happen to us all. :)

Thanks for the link, Susan.
I've now joined the moderator group that Carol mentioned and asked a question there (no reply in the feedback group as yet). It sounds as if it might be possible to set today as an opening date without losing the data, so I'll probably give that a try later tonight (but I'll copy all the data first to be on the safe side:).
If not, I'll email goodreads. I had just assumed there would be a simple "close poll" function!

I think many of the members are in the States, Judy, so I tended to get an answer late at night and you might find the same.
Thanks, Susan. I've had a couple of replies in the mods group, but might wait until tomorrow morning to see if I get a definitive answer. It all gives time for any last-minute votes. :)
Thanks everyone, problem now solved with your help and that of the mods group - I've edited the two polls by adding an opening date and closing date.
Putting an opening date after the poll actually opened does not lose the data, which was what I was worried about! So the polls will now both close at the end of today and I'll post the results tomorrow. :)

Good to hear you solved the issue, Judy. We could have just cut and paste the results if we got stuck I guess :)

Yes, that would have worked. Thanks Susan. :)

I would like to close the two polls for picking a favourite read of the year, but can't see any way of doing this apart from deleting the polls. It looks as if I should have picked a closing date when I set the polls up! Any help appreciated. I have looked through the help sections at GR but with no luck.
