Hey Kate, how are you? It's been a while. You crack me up as always with the family stories. So, you're going to "lose" one of the gg/children huh? That sounds like a good plan. LOL

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments She is a fighter. Her kidneys weren't working as well as they wanted so they had put stents in her and less than s month later had to redo the surgery to work better. She is back home and going to be starting chemo soon

I will definitely keep her in my prayers. You know, I run around complaining about all sorts of stuff in my life almost on a daily basis, but when you hear about something like this it makes you realize how good I have it. At least I have my health so far; thank God. I can't imagine the stress. I pray she has peace during this time. With peace I think you can handle just about anything.

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments I know she is only 37 and was going to have gallbladder surgery when they found she had cervical caner stage 4 and it's in her hipbone

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments I'm at my craftshow. Princess poppy purse went home with the cutest little girl. I've made $85 so far

kate | 203 comments Elizabeth we are all praying for Candi. I hope she has a good support group surrounding her. Friends and family are so needed when you go through this. I really think it's three times as hard when your young. When you are older you are aware that the ice is thinning under your feet. But when you are young you have so many hopes and plans that have not been fulfilled yet. The situation isn't hopeless though. I know of two people that have beat stage 4 cancer.

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments It's just terrible to think and like caron said it really puts things on prospective. How lucky I am. I am going to work in a few minutes and if I hear anything new I'll keep you posted. She is the main person behind her household. The girl never stops always doing and being a mom and other family living in the same house has us all concerned but time will tell. She hasn't told her twin girls yet last I knew. She wanted to be sure she'd be around to help them deal. She has two other boys and they know not sure how that's going but one graduates this year. Let u know more as I do. Thank you so much for all your prayers and if you give the names of your young ladies o will add them in my prayers as well.

That is tough, especially with young kids. I don't they ever really understand. My dad died when I was eleven, and I was in my twenties dealing with abandonment issues related to his death. Go figure! I knew he hadn't willingly left me, yet I still had abandonment issues. I know that as a Mom her main concern will be that her kids are OK. It's so hard. I will definitely keep the entire family in my prayers. It's heartwrenching. But, like Kate said, it doesn't have to be terminal.

Hey Kate! How are you?

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments You know it. Did you guys get snow? Kate it looked like you were going to get hammered with it. The paper showed 18 inches for you. We got quite a bit and the stupid super intendant got chewed out from all us parents who had to fight this morning to get our kids to school in the slippery crap. Every school in our county was closed even the kids that are from LaBrae but go to the vocational school got to stay out if this. Okay stay warm ladies

What? Your school wasn't closed?!! That's crazy! Our schools announced they were closed from yesterday afternoon. After all, we knew what was coming. We don't get so much snow by us, so much as heavy winds, flooding, and the worry of losing power. So far so good though. Stay safe and warm you two!

message 63: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments Yes in Ohio we don't shut things down when snow comes. Lol. We knew it was coming and while our school had snow days the idiot that makes that decision kept school open. The only school in Trumbull county mind you. We were beyond livid and every parent is now filling that morons ear. I was thankful they called off my employee meeting for later today the less we have to go out the better. How have you been Caron? I started a new book called unwilling it's a pride and prejudice variation. I finished one yesterday named at any price. It was a contemporary and free so I went for it. There are others in the series but I feel they will have too much angst for me.

lol yeah they don't cancel schools here for snow either, but this is a blizzard with winds around 50 mph or more. Personally, I'm just scared to death of losing power. Our roads by my house actually don't look that bad, but tomorrow there's a worry of ice on the roads. I just don't like winters. I'll be happy to go back to sunny FL, where the heat is horrible in the summers, but I can deal with that! Stay warm and safe. So are your boys are school now, or home?

I'm good. Keeping busy with book stuff. Writing and working up the nerve to get down to some serious promotions of the series so far. Book three goes to the editor this Thursday, so I'm hoping to have that out by May. We'll see. Still haven't done much reading though. Sigh. Maybe that's why I'm not feeling very peaceful. There's a peace I get from reading that I don't get from anything else.

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments Ooh that wind is wicked sounding. We are getting forecast for high winds and snow tomorrow. I get that peace too it helps me relax and when it's a good read it's spell can last for days. It also makes it hard in choosing the next bc I worry about finding another gem. I read Catherine Andersons new one it was okay. She writes sweet characters

Yeah I know you like CA a lot. Yes, you're right. When the read is sweet I am attached to the book for days and worry that the next one is going to mess up my high. LOL Ouch, your tomorrow sounds like it's gonna be worse than the day you're having today. I'm just hanging in there. I have everything plugged in to keep them charged. If we lose power, I'm gonna cry though. Ths house gets freezing cold fast. Sigh.

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments We have our wood stove going and it is still chilly. If you sit. Y it it is wonderful but in the living room it isn't as warm as it should be. Yea it's cold and flurries here and there but tomorrow sounds horrible. Ken just went to get the boys from school they get out at 2:30 but he has a few stops first to make. I hope things go well with the book. I know what you mean about being brave but your a strong woman you'll be great

Thanks, EB. You're an inspiration, that's for sure. I'm sure it wasn't easy gearing up to go to those first few craft shows, but you did it. I just need to do the same with the book. What's the worst that can happen? I get a no, right? At the end of the day, that's not going to kill me. But, if I never try, I'll never get anywhere. BTW if you have the time and inclination to check out book 2, let me know. I could use a review. LOL

message 69: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Bennet (janetspringer) | 1740 comments I can read book 2. I still learn from craft shows it never ends and one thing you do learn is some ppl have no filter. With good comments you get bad too best to just focus on the good ones and god bless the bad and move on. I had a lady come up to my table stating i like to see how others do the things I do. I do all this then looked at some of my ideas she said ooh I'm stealing that. I was like really? Why would a person be so rude but when dealing with the public you get all kinds. Lol

message 70: by kate (new)

kate | 203 comments Imitation is the sincerest former of flattery Elizabeth. I was raised in my mother's retail shop and worked years in sales and I could write a book on the assinine things people say.

We had a nor'easter with two feet of snow predictions. However what we we got was snow that turned to rain and so we wound up with ankle deep slush. Much better. Of course it's freezing today so the slush is one big sheet of ice. Can't complain though it's been a mild winter.
Looking forward to April. I'm taking Marissa to Legoland at the end of the month. Can't wait to lay in that Florida sun.
