Some Kind of CourageInquisitor's tale
All Rise For the Honorable Perry T Cook
Paper Wishes
Ghost
What Elephants Know
I gave 5 stars to:The Inquisitor's Tale
Some Kind of Courage
Soar
Hour of the Bees
Samurai Rising
but my pick is The Inquisitor's Tale.
I forgot one other of my 5 stars which has not been mentioned on this list. Word of Mouse by James Patterson and Chris Grabenstein.
My top picks that are most distinguished are Samurai Rising
Wolf Hollow
The Inquisitor's Tale
Freedom over Me by Ashley Bryan
Snow White: a graphic novel
I just finished listening to Towers Falling narrated by the author. This was very powerful. Maybe Newbery honor?
Wolf Hollow (by far my favorite)All rise for the Honorable Perry T. Cook
Some Kind of Courage
As brave as you
(still haven't read Full of Beans or Cloud and Wallfish, but have read all the other Mock Newbery selections; didn't like most of them... )
Some Writer (will get something....Sibert? Caldecott Honor?)
The Inquisitor's TaleThe Key to Extraordinary
We will not be Silent
Ghost-Reynolds
When Sea turned to Silver
The Girl Who Drank the MoonMs. Bixby's Last Day
Weekends with Max and His Dad
The Inquisitor's Tale
Ghost
I forgot to include Pax and When the Sea Turned to Silver with Raymie Nightingale, The Wild Robot and Cloud and Wallfish. Certainly two of the best books of the year. Maybe a Fox has a good chance, as well. Raymie Nightingale is my favorite for the gold. The honor books are a difficult choice this year. So many magnificent titles. Loved Riding Chance, too.
