To know or to not know

I am currently reading The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, which is mainly about a journalist helping a man find the murderer of his niece. This had me wondering whether I would want to investigate the murder of one of my loved ones, or if it would be better off if I did not know. Which do you think makes it easier to move on?

Although the information found out may be hard to hear because it is of a loved one, I feel as if I would want to know everything for a sense of closure.

I agree, I feel like it would be neccasary for me to know before I could move on. A real life murder mystery would not sit well with me.
