Rebecca | 215 comments Keeping with a traditional theme of New Year’s, this month we’re going to take an inward look and delve into the world of self-help books. These can range from titles about changing behaviors to changing lifestyle to changing exercise routines to basically changing anything. The common theme is change, so we’re going to pick up some titles that are about making a change in your life!

I think I’m going to take a whole picture kind of approach with my self-help this month and read Designing Your Life: How to Build a Well-Lived, Joyful Life by Bill Burnett and Dave Evans. I was enticed by the design of the book itself.
Designing Your Life How to Think Like a Designer and Build a Well-Lived, Joyful Life by Burnett William

Let us know what you’re reading this month and if you’re willing, share one of your New Year’s Resolutions/Goals! One of mine is instead of only running her around the neighborhood every day, I’ll take Loretta, my corgi mix, to an actual park twice a week.

Devin | 1 comments Hi Rebecca, I'm "reading" The 4-Hour Chef by Tim Ferriss.

I wasn't sure how to sign-up/add the LPL Readers Club 2017.

Any way you could put up a step-by-step here?

To let us know that you're participating, the next time you stop by the library and fill out one of the little slips for 2017. We accept the Goodreads Challenge for the LPL Readers Club too.

For goodreads, on your main homepage, along the lefthand side and often at the very top, there is a blue logo that says 2017 Reading Challenge. Click on that, put in your goal number, and you are good to go. When adding books however, be sure to put the date read.

If you run into any issues, let me know and I'll email you a photo guide (Goodreads won't let me attach it :( )

Hey Holly!

Since you did it last year, I can transfer over the info. If you can't make it in before the 9th, just email a picture of your book and I'll mark it off (rcloud@mylpl.org).

Linda Mallet (lmallet) | 20 comments I'll be reading "100 ways to motivate yourself by Steve Chandler"

Kathy | 8 comments I have several Self Help books on my To Read List. I just finished Dreams Plans Goals by Ken Gaub. One of my resolutions is to read a wider variety of books. I like to read books to relax and sometimes I don't read nonfiction for months.
