Tracking Hurricane Irma! I can't actually watch it live since it hasn't hit the US yet, but I'm still watching the forecasts of it on the Weather Channel. I'm surprised nobody's compared it to any other hurricanes like Katrina or Andrew yet. Maybe it's because it's in a category all of its own...
It's category 5 and known to have wind speeds about 20 mph stronger than Andrew.And it might reach us >.< but it also might not since we're pretty far inland.
I know what category it is. If it does hit you it won't be AS bad as it would be if you lived in a place like Florida. It might even just be a rainstorm by the time it hits you. Like we get residues of hurricanes all the time because of our location.
A few days ago downtown even got flooded really badly because Hurricane Harvey's remains arrived here and made it rain really badly for twelve straight hours. (It wasn't a storm, just rain)
But you said it was in a category all on its own? Andrew was a category 5 too. I know it won't. I just checked my local news website and they said they EXPECT it to be a tropical storm or even depression with some rain and 20-40 mph winds and rain but better safe than sorry right?
I meant category as in it's a really bad storm and that's why people can't compare it to anything that came before it. I didn't mean its hurricane category.

REgardless you ar ecorrect: by the time most reach us they have severely died down because A: We're further north so the storm naturally dies off and B: We're over 400 miles inland. Most of the time when the storm comes to us it's just a lot of rain and maaaybe a thunderstorm. Nothing too out of the ordinary storm wise for us

Okay I'll ask my mom :P she also says a lot of New Orleans was left to rot after Katrina, so there's all kinds of old abandoned creepy stuff there, like schools and hospitals and even a theme park. And that is why Mom says New Orleans is a special place :P

They made a plan to get it done by 2018. They're going to demolish it and build a bigger one closer to where the tourists are.

She's heard of it because I told her about it, but she wasn't very interested in it. she prefers paranormal stuff set in New Orleans. Vampires and stuff :P

I thought the book was alright but I didn't feel invested in any of the characters. ANd the murder they make a deal about in the synopsis? Doesn't happen until like halfway into the book and even then, hardly discussed.
But I see she's a talented author; I just personally didn't prefer it. I didn't dislike it like I do, say, The LAst Airbender :p
Hey speaking of the paranormal, want to hear about the game i got last night?
What bothered me about the book is the fact that she's never described as being black or white. People ask me: "Why does it matter?" and I say: "Because it's 1950's New Orleans!!!" all I know is that she has brown hair and eyes, which both races can have. Both white and black people seem to dislike her, but she also has black and white friends. So it can really go either way. In 1950's New Orleans, of course it would be frowned upon for a white person to have black friends and vice versa. But I still wanna know!! Sure :P
I don't know if many, or any colleges in the 50's would allow blacks ((save for any that were segregated if they existed)) so that leads me to believe she's white *Shrugs*It's a game called "Ghost Master". it's a puzzle game where you control ghosts. Most the the missions involving scaring people away and there are always trapped spirits to free and recruit. Many names and settings for levels are parodies of horror movies, such as "The Calamityville Horror" and "Poultrygeist" involving a ghost chicken. i've played it several times before.
Segregated colleges existed at that point I believe, though they were mainly only for rich people. And she's not rich, so. That actually sounds like fun!

OMG shoot me now my brothers are getting on my nerves >.< My middle brother got soda from school and my baby brother wants him to share, but he won't share, so now the two are literally screaming at each other.
TEll your baby brother if he drinks after the other h might get a stomach bug and puke for a week, even if the other brother doesn't appear sick. That happened to me and now i will never ever drink after someone.
Lol my baby brother doesn't care. He literally pukes at the drop of a hat. Mainly because his medicine requires him to eat breakfast after it's taken, but he keeps forgetting and then he gets really sick and throws up at school. As weird as it sounds that's never happened to me, and I've shared food and drinks with people more times than I can count. Maybe they're all getting sick from me

However, Andrew was an extremely small hurricane anyway. Someone compared Andrew to another hurricane from the 80's that was also a really huge hurricane and said that picture proves nothing.

Big beads? WHat are those?
Mardi Gras necklaces. To get a lot of them, the girls in the audience usually flash their breasts, and the bigger their chests, the bigger the beads on their necklaces are.
