~Look Down, You're Talking to Your Highness~[R]

What's Coco?

A Pixar movie coming out in November about a young boy in Mexico who wants to become a musician, only to accidentally wind up in the World of the Dead and has to find a way out before he's forgotten forever by the living world.

Ohhh that sounds cool!

I found out the music is being written by the same team who wrote the songs for Frozen, which makes me a little excited for a the film since I actually do really like the songs to Frozen(and was one of the people who sung them constantly)

I dont even mind the SONGS from Frozen. I liked the In Summer one a lot
Its the fact Let It Go was everywhere all the time that annoyed me. It's a good song but I can only hear it so many times before going mad.

The only violent religions I can think of are like Mesoamerican pantheons with human sacrifice vut even then they only did it because they thought if they didnt, the world would end.

Fifty more and I can move it to a new category!

Basically the goal of any Buddhist is to live a good, pure life and eventually reach Enlightenment. However, a lot of teachings say that women are unable to reach this because of how their bodies act naturally-due to things they can't control, they are automatically seen as being 'rotten' and thus unfit for being Enlightened unless they are reincarnated in their next life as a man. They are also seen as being more easily influenced by the bad side of life than a man is; such as sexual acts and jealousy.
Buddhism also says if you're a woman, then you were a man in a past life who did something horrible and thus came back as a woman in this life as a punishment.
However, there are a lot of Buddhist nuns, and a lot of those women have been working for years to make the religion more inclusive. They can't rewrite the teachings, per say, but they can make something of them and say 'well in this book, the teacher says anyone can reach Enlightenment if they follow this regardless of gender' Not to mention, the original Buddha, while saying women were to respect their husbands, he also said for husbands to in turn respect their wives, which was unheard of back then.
Even the Dalai Lama(who is kinda like our representative, to put it VERY simply) says he supports womens' rights and says women make natural leaders than men because they're more compassionate and emotional. He says it's entirely possible for the next Dalai Lama to be reincarnated as a woman.

I'm glad leaders from these major religions are trying to stamp out intolerance and bigotry. Like the Pope and the Dalia. I'm not Catholic OR Buddhist and I respect them more than other leaders.

I told him I wanted to change my religion and become Muslim, but he said that was a terrible idea since Muslim women have no rights. Since I was a dumb teenager at the time, I got upset and said this was America and I should be allowed to convert to whatever religion I wanted to, and so I instead said I was a Buddhist and left it at that.

Eh, I'll probably end up just going to see Coco unless they reschedule it. I don't really want to see it, but it'll make Mom happy.
