The animation seems to be the same from The Beautiful World and World Twinkle which makes sense, I don't know why they'd randomly switch animation studios yet again. I can't tell what strips they're going to animate this time around but judging by the clothes Italy Russia and England are wearing for part of the trailer it looks like they're going to focus on a lot more 1800's-era stuff which is strange because Russia and England, when their empires are discussed it's more through the eyes of the nations they owned and not them themselves, and I can't remember any strips of Italy working on an old-fashioned car. Same with Japan in an old-fashioned kimono, what is that from? They already adapted the Meiji storylines years ago and World Twinkle adapted the last one about Japan and Netherlands. It looks way too old for it to be from a current episode of Japan just wearing a kimono. Also Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Portugal are going to be in this season so they'll animate some of their strips for sure. I remember the story arc of Czech Republic and Slovakia quite well but I swear I don't remember any strips with Portugal. I remember when he was introduced because he was a hyped character but not any stories Hidekaz actually did with him. The trailer just showed the Axis and Allies which makes me a tad nervous, please don't spend yet another season focusing on those eight again when you spent the previous two seasons World Twinkle especially focusing on lesser-known characters. Well they referenced the webcomic in one of the scenes so does this mean some stuff from the webcomic will finally be animated? Very highly unlikely but I'm still very wearily crossing my fingers because Lithuania and Poland were drawn in outfits they only wore in the webcomic, Hidekaz loves designing/drawing outfits and I recognized the suits and Lithuania only wore his hair in that style like once so maybe maybe maybe? And of course they had to show us New Zealand, Seychelles, Ukraine, Belarus, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, and Vietnam in a 'blink-and-you'll-miss-it' scene. Some of them haven't been properly introduced into the anime despite being webcomic regulars for years like Vietnam or New Zealand so I wonder if that means they'll adapt strips with them too Overall this trailer predictably showed very little of the new season aside from the new characters which makes sense, I kinda expected that, I didn't expect them to show that much to be honest. Even though the fashion choices are confusing I'm overall still extremely excited for this new season and I can't wait to see what stories they'll animate this time around!

I keep seeing ads for that Banza pizza, I wonder if I should check it out. It's made from chickpeas and Mom keeps suggesting eating more vegetable-based stuff would help me feel less nauseous because it's not as greasy as meat, like she also wanted to have me try the Impossible Whopper and see if that made me feel sick or not

It's February so Hoopla let me have my books for literally the whole month and I wish I had known that sooner because I basically f**ked around this whole month and got no reading done and now my stuff is all due back in a week. I can get it back but like...an entire month wasted when I could've spent it reading those as opposed to the few weeks I normally get. Well, nothing for it now. Might as well read anyway and see what I can get done in a week. I normally only take a few days up to a week depending on length/interest anyway so

My baby brother getting mad at me for eating the rest of the pepperonis is rich because first of all I had no clue they were even being used for anything, there weren't a lot left so I thought they were fair game and second of all, he eats so much stuff that we need, that I need, and he does so proudly so I don't want to hear him scold me and get upset with me especially since Mom can still make his dinner for him
I'm reading Red as Blood because I want to finish something this month and it's relatively short and about fairy-tales hey but I really dislike the new cover, I prefer the old vintage one since it looked like an old fairy-tale book illustration. Okay the new one isn't bad by any means, but it's of a woman dressed in a sexy witch costume. It's really unfitting because it looks like it's a paranormal romcom instead of dark fairy-tale-retellings and the old cover from the eighties really illustrated the tone of the book a lot better than this new one

Someone I'm subscribed to uploaded a video of themselves reading The Lottery and I'm like 'what a pleasant surprise it's one of my mom's most favourite short stories' But since it is I already know how it ends and thus I feel the story is kinda ruined, it's one of those stories where the first time you read it the ending shocks you because you don't see it coming but after that it's not as fun to read because you know what it's leading up to

Why does EDM have to have the weirdest music videos ever? Like there's a reason a vast majority of them are just of the DJ performing at a rave, because otherwise they make literally no sense. Like why did EDM decide to have such confusing music videos? I think the only ones I genuinely like were Avicii's because they actually made sense with what was being played. I was watching a mashup of the decade's best EDM tracks and half of the music videos I was just looking at like 'what' I know people like to poke fun at other types of music for having nonsensical music videos but I think EDM just takes the cake in that department. Like the one with the dancing ducks or Gecko which had people turning into monsters after having sex or Animals which had people drinking their bodily fluids in animal masks. Like are the people who make these just like 'well EDM doesn't have any actual words or anything so we can just show whatever the heck we want in the music video'

The gas station finally got macaroni and cheese after like three months of not having it and I was badly craving it, but I'm all macaroni and cheese'd out right now. Well I got one anyway, it can sit in our freezer until I crave it again, right next to our five frozen pizza boxes that nobody wants to eat for some reason
Mom and I should watch more of Star Trek Voyager, we watched the first few episodes but obviously it's going to take us a long time to watch the whole thing. It's Mom's favourite series of the franchise and thought I would like it the most too because of the characters and plotlines and the fact their captain is female and I was watching the first few episodes and I was like 'man I wish we could have diversity like this again' like the cast was so super diverse but they never draw attention to that fact, like one of the shipmates is Native American played by one but the fact he's Native American doesn't really mean much in the context of the story, he just happens to be, he's a character of his own. Nowadays I feel like the show would have the character constantly be like 'well I'm Native American!' and not make them interesting, all they are is just the Native American character. There's also a Korean guy and I remember he's one of the younger members and is super nervous and he likes music and is worried about all the violin recitals he's missing on Earth. Mom says that installment was praised back in the day for its portrayal of women characters in particular, lots of interesting and strong women in that series which is why she thought I'd like Voyager. When we watch it though I keep thinking that this is what diversity in a show should be, you know, diverse characters, but they're still characters, they have to be interesting instead of just constantly saying what diversity checkmark they represent. It always has baffled me that people my age nowadays want to say Star Trek isn't diverse in any way, like it was always trying to be super ahead of its time by introducing characters of all walks of life, it's meant to be a utopian vision of Earth where nobody cares about things like race or gender anymore. Go back to what Mom said about Voyager and how it was praised for its strong female characters; Mom said back in the day when it came out in the nineties that was still a 'new idea', it was hard to find consistently interesting female characters on TV because people were still not convinced that was an important issue. They were starting to get better at it but not by much. I'm not hating on diversity in general, I'm hating on the type of diversity that doesn't make interesting characters that just happen to be diverse. An interesting character should always come first

I told Mom yesterday what I wrote in here about how I liked the diversity in Star Trek purely because it genuinely feels diverse because the characters are all characters and not just there to be like 'well we have so-and-so look how diverse and progressive we are!' and she said it's always been like that, like one series had a black captain but nobody ever remembers him as just 'the black captain' they remember his name because he was an actual character or Voyager had a female captain but she was an actual character and not just 'the woman captain' and she said the word I'm looking for is 'tokenism' and I said people nowadays will get upset if you use that word, saying that's when prejudiced people put someone in their works to show they're not prejudiced but I say it can be used for anyone regardless of their intention who has one character who's just like 'I'm here to be whatever diversity checkmark the creator needs!' Or the idea that diverse characters is a new idea, I told Mom that one person on Twitter who's like 'Coming to America is always the first movie that comes to my mind when people are like "there are no movies featuring black people from before 2004!"' and Mom said it's the same for strong women, movies like Terminator and Alien gave us famously strong female protagonists which is even more notable considering they were action movies that came out in the seventies and eighties, or the original Evil Dead and Nightmare on Elm Street 2 feature male protagonists who are more cowardly and not physically strong and have trouble fighting off the evil forces because their directors noticed women are usually the ones in horror movies who run away from everything screaming and thought it'd be interesting to have a male character in that position in a horror movie. Or another Twitter post I saw saying they're mad at feminists for taking away the damsel-in-distress trope all because it's 'sexist' because some women enjoy that idea and some other comments said they dislike how every woman needs to be strong and tough and at the end of all this I keep saying that I don't hate diversity despite how much I keep finding issue with it. I praise it, I want it, I advocate for it. However, diversity is not a character. A character has to be interesting. I don't care if that character is male, female, trans, nonbinary, genderfluid, gay, lesbian, bisexual, pansexual, asexual, straight, black, white, Asian, Latino, Middle Eastern, Christian, Muslim, Jewish, strong, weak, whatever else you can think of, all I ask is that they're an interesting character. A strong character who's always out fighting people and taking names can be interesting. A weak character who runs from danger and can't fight to save their lives can be interesting. A character who's lovesick and swoony and more traditionally masculine/feminine can be interesting. A character who is super tough and uninterested in affection and doesn't follow typical conventions for their gender can be interesting. Anyone can be interesting regardless of who they are or where they come from or what they believe or represent if their creator is willing to make them so. But just making them a diverse character for the sake of diversity and calling it a day, whether you mean well or not, is not it. That's not a character, they're not fascinating, and I shove away your idea of 'diversity'
It's why a lot of people in this generation have trouble writing interesting stories and instead give diversity headcanons to random characters in their fandoms because they still think that makes an interesting character. When they try to write their own original ideas they have trouble garnering interest because their characters are caricatures, well-intended ones, but caricatures nonetheless. Everything nowadays has to be billed by diversity, every time I see new books being plotted on social media the writer lists all the diversity checkpoints their book fulfills and I'm just like 'yeah but what's the story about? I want to know what the story is about' Diversity itself can make a story unique but not interesting. I've seen lots of uniquely diverse stories, but many do not sound interesting to me because a lot of them just have that specific thing to their name and while that's not bad, I feel a story needs a lot more than just that
