Looks like my mom shanghaied me into watching another one of her animes with her, but it's not as annoying as some other stuff she's shown me

We were actually having a conversation about what we considered to be the best anime openings on our lists, and we got into a debate over it because she thinks anime openings should be judged objectively and not on how much you personally enjoy them, and I said the whole point of a best anime openings list is to show people what you think are the best openings, not what are objectively the best

People want to talk about cliches in anime openings but they never mention the one I've seen in 60% of openings or something; a character walking down a darkened alley. Seriously, I've been watching a lot of anime opening compilation lists and a huge majority of them have that scene in there, either seriously or as a parody. But nobody ever mentions it!
My mom says she is sick of seeing anime openings that feature two people falling and reaching for each other lol

Talking to some other people and looking at the weather recaps evidently the town a few miles north of us had an EF2 tornado hit, and the same storm spawned an EF1 in the town above them, and when it came to us I suppose it had weakened since it didn’t spawn anything but the power got knocked out and there was very bad wind and rain and hail. I wouldn’t be surprised if the storm still had rotation in it, but wasn’t able to spawn for one reason or another, since a storm that strong that had produced tornadoes literally within minutes apart from each other usually doesn’t weaken that quickly

I read a really good fanfic except the main character was portrayed as being transgendered when they're not in the actual series. I politely told the author that, emphasizing how much I enjoyed the story anyway, and they responded back just as politely that they'd personally die for that headcanon, however it's understandable that I don't share the same headcanon since the actual game is very vague about who and what that character is to the point we don't know that much about them.And honestly I was glad that person chose to be respectful to me instead of calling me a transphobe like everybody else does. If only other fandoms like Danganronpa could be more like that person
I finally finished moving an incredibly long, multi-chapter fic to AO3 and I almost had a heart attack when I accidentally pushed the wrong button and thought I deleted the whole thing

13. What’s your opinion on the Danganronpa 3 anime?
I can see why almost everyone in the fandom dislikes it. I have a soft spot for it mainly because it has some good moments in it that a lot of people seem to forget about. Like in Future Arc when Makoto is hallucinating from Despair Disease and he sees the dead and mutilaited corpses of his classmates in front of him. And Sayaka and Kyoko taunting him, saying all of that was his own fault, and cheering him on when he decides to commit suicide. It is such a chilling scene. Or the scene in Despair Arc when the class gives up and becomes the Remnants of Despair. They’re all exclaiming about these wonderful things they’re going to do for humanity, but it’s chilling when you know they’re going to do the opposite.
So yeah. They’re not the best, but they have some really good scenes in them that I wish people would stop overlooking.
14. What do you think about Danganonpa 1 anime?
I thought it was fine before I played the game, but watching it again after playing the game made me realize how incredibly rushed everything was. Even the first episode moved so fast I felt like I had run several marathons by the time it was over. I think the problem was they only had thirteen episodes and thus a limited amount of time to tell their story. They really would’ve benefited from having twenty-four at least, I feel. So it’s a good way to summarize the actual events of the game, but a terrible way if you want to get a feel for each character, since the anime barely develops them at all.

I don’t really think I have one...Kiibo and Iruma maybe? Or Makoto and Leon?

Sonia! Nobody ever talks about her unless they’re shipping her with someone. She is an interesting character with a backstory implied to be quite interesting and I really wish more people talked about her for who she is!
20. Who do you think is an overrated character?
Maki all the way. She is literally the most boring character in the entire series, even more so than Kyoko. At least Kyoko had an interesting backstory and that whole ‘forgetting her talent’ thing. Maki is boring and typical. Her route is boring, her backstory is boring, her design is boring, her personality is boring, the twist related to her talent is boring...basically, they tried to recreate Kyoko and failed. And I am literally so puzzled by everyone thinking she’s an interesting character.
21. Favourite voice actor?
Megumi Oogata. I loved her work even way before I even got into this fandom and I kicked myself for ages for somehow not figuring out it was her the whole time. Plus her singing voice is just heavenly and I am very happy she sings the ending songs for all of the games.
22. Favourite talent?
Ultimate Nurse. It may seem strange, but it holds a special place in my heart since almost all of the women in my family are registered nurses and many even worked as such. Like my late great-grandmother was a nurse in WW2. Thus, I really like and admire that talent.
23. Favourite mascot?
Usami/Monomi. She is just so cute and I love how she’s the younger sister of Alter-Ego and Chiaki!

25. Least favourite mascot?
I don’t like the Monokubs. Sorry not sorry, they are just incredibly annoying to me. It’s like having five Monokumas around everywhere.

Celestia’s, for sure. It appeals to both sides of her and fits both of her sides. As a wise YouTube comment put it once: “She died twice; once as Celestia Ludenberg, and once as Taeko Yasuhiro.”

There goes my mom again with treating my brothers like they’re special again. She was going to go to the store for all of us even though she didn’t want to do anything at all today, and my middle brother kept badgering her to take him to a restaurant and finally she said she was just going to take him to the restaurant and nobody else because at least at a restaurant there’s a drive-through. And I asked her what about me and my baby brother since it doesn’t seem very fair to us at all and she said she’s not going to get anything for us and she’s not going to go to the store because she doesn’t feel like doing anything today. And I got upset and told her if she feels like doing nothing, then she should freaking do nothing or at the very least give all of us the same treatment. She even said she was going to the store later but now she’s not because of my stupid middle brother

My mom got all upset and crabby with me just because I was telling her about an anthology I watched where famous anime reviewers on YouTube came together to talk about all different kinds of anime that take place in space and she said they’d likely mention stuff like Neon Genesis Evangalion and Cowboy Beebop and I said they probably would, but would probably also focus on more obscure stuff from the eighties and nineties because that was when that trope was at its highest, and Mom got crabby at me for saying that and told me I can just go in my room if I’m going to complain like that
