~Look Down, You're Talking to Your Highness~[R]

Commenters: "They're making him get married to a guy, so is he gay?"
"No, he feels like a guy so he wants to marry a girl,"
????? Do people just forget lesbians exist or something????

I see this sort of thing even on GoodReads and nothing makes me block a person faster than all that self-elitism of ‘oh I would NEVER read a YA/romance/classical book’ Good for you, your order of attention has arrived, now go eat it and kindly f**k off

Baby Brother: “No, because I want to be a real man and finish this the proper way!”
Mom: “But you have only one point of health left!”
Baby Brother: “A minor set-back!”

But if you’re going to get moody towards someone who portrays Chihiro as even a bisexual or pansexual, then we’re going to be having some serious issues

I'm concerned because they're like the only one of our neighbors who are actually nice to us lol

Also does the possibility of vomiting through your nose increase with age? Like when I was younger I never threw up through my nose but the last few times I have. Or does it just have more to do with the force or quantity of the vomit?

I'm apparently now a Chaotic Evil Human Sorceress
I'm...not sure how I feel about this new development lol I've never seen myself as being Chaotic Evil. People probably think I am because of how much I like to mess people's stuff up, but I've always seen myself as more of a Chaotic Neutral since I don't really like to harm anyone innocent on purpose. But maybe I truly am just Chaotic Evil and I only think of myself as being Chaotic Neutral lol
Maybe I just flip-flop between the alignments. But no matter what changes, I'm always on the chaotic end of things because I find it fun to cause mayhem and chaos everywhere I go lol

Oh yeah, lectured me for about thirty/forty-five minutes about how I can’t expect the world to make me happy and give me what I want and how I need to make my own happiness and how there are people in the world who have literally everything they could ever want and still want to kill themselves so I should be happy I’m not suicidal and be glad for what I have
And she tries to claim she treats the three of us equally 🙄

My Mom: “You couldn’t pay me to watch Ensemble Stars, like that anime right there looks like the epitome of everything I dislike,”

Nah that’s usually par for the course when it comes to my fanfics. Literally hundreds of thousands of hits but barely any favourites/kudos or comments

So once again I feel utterly at a loss

Like I can understand the re-releases being on Switch because they want to expand their horizons, but why oh why are you releasing new content on purely the Switch? No PS4? Not even PS Vita? I’d even take mobile at this point come on

Me, having never seen Avengers: Endgame and having absolutely no desire to: "Oh thank goodness he warned me about the spoilers so I know not to watch this now,"

Nobody:
McVries: You want me to jerk you off, Garrety?

So random...sorry...but this is MOOD!
So random...sorry...but this is MOOD!

I have a history of that girl getting on my nerves hence why I don’t want to do it lol

We're going straight for the Royal AU classic tropes this time around

But they did a good job!!! Each picture had so many small details about that dictator's life that you wouldn't catch if you didn't know anything about them. I looked up a good number of them though since aside from the really famous ones I only recognized Alexander Lukashenko and Saparmurat Niyazov. And out of all the dictators they did, two are currently still in power; Alexander Lukashenko and Bashar al-Assad
As I said before though, the artists did a great job of capturing each nuance of the dictator's life. After looking up the ones I didn't recognize I really appreciated all of the finer details in the pictures
I'm not saying I endorse dictators or anything okay

Yuuuuuuup

Basically they talked about how the tone of the fanfic was quite condenscending and stereotypical and too one-note and focused on purely making Russia seem like the antagonist. In reality a lot of people in those nations praised Soviet rule and even now wish to go back to those days and how many don’t even care about Russia anymore. And how many of those nations wouldn’t even exist today because Soviet rule helped them discover their cultural identities and focused on and emphasized their shared history and customs.
They also mentioned that the fanfic I originally took inspiration from had been deleted because the author realized it’s unfair to put such blame on a fictional character when the whole point of the show in question is to mock stereotypes and have a good time. The characters aren’t taken seriously and neither are their histories and thus the fandom should act like that instead of trying to do things like that. And to not portray such ancient countries as being childish and angry and holding a grudge over something that is inevitably just a small dip in their long histories.
Honestly, I’m not even sure what to do at this point. It's true that I feel like the story has served its purpose. It’s pretty old and my writing style has evolved and a lot of events mentioned in the fanfic simply aren’t happening anymore or aren’t of great importance. I’ve grown not too fond of the fanfic in recent years and don’t really care about it anymore and what happens to it.
However, I always thought I portrayed both Soviet and Imperial rule quite fairly in that fanfic. Russia isn’t to blame for all of their problems, some where caused by other nations or even themselves, and I even mention some of the good things the Soviets did for each nation like the improved sense of nationality and community as well as the wealth some nations got from it.
And even so, you cannot deny that many of those nations are in a horrible state currently. Uzbekistan with its child labor, Tajikistan with its poor life expectancy, Turkmenistan with its human rights violations, etc. Even Moldova is the poorest nation in Europe currently. True, some of that isn’t entirely Russia’s fault, but the iron grip the Soviet Union had on them certainly didn’t help them prepare for suddenly being thrust out into the real world and having to form democracies and economies very quickly. I’m extremely biased towards those nations in particular because I refuse to believe that people in a place like Tajikistan are genuinely happy when they can’t even afford stuff like bread or rice meanwhile their ‘president’ works out on solid gold equipment. Maybe I secretly am racist and hide it by pretending I care about their well-being.
Even people from those nations have praised me in my portrayals and how I talk about things not even their own governments disclose to the public.
It also seems a bit unfair to come after me and that other girl when there are tons of fanfics in the fandom that do similar things by portraying the nations in a darker, historical light. Are you going to go after them and say we have to constantly follow the light-hearted tone of the fandom even if technically nobody is being hurt? And ignore the fact this series is what got many people, including myself, interested in history in the first place?
I don’t hate the character of Russia nor do I hate the country. I just think it did some horrible things to the nations under its rule in the Soviet era. But I’m American. Maybe people from those nations really did enjoy being ruled in such a way and miss those days of worry and starvation because hey at least you got your own culture sorted out.
So I’m at a loss. Do I admit I became the very thing I sought to destroy, apologize, and delete the fanfic? Or do I stand my ground and keep it up, citing the people in support of it from those nations and the older date of the story as well as saying I’m far from the only person in the fandom who has done a thing like this?
Personally, I don’t want to think about it at all. I want to do absolutely nothing. I have more important things to do with my time. But I don’t want people thinking I’m some sort of racist or whatever
So what should I do?

This MEP's theme was 'girls whom everyone judges but they don't know how they really are!' Most of them I didn't know enough about, but some I did. Like why'd you pick Yuzu from Citrus? People judge her but they're pretty much correct about her. Are they referring to the fact that she's secretly dating her stepsister? I think Mei might've been a good one for that if you were going for that then....
Someone else did Junko from Danganronpa. Literally you could've picked any girl from this series and you picked the one that doesn't fit the theme at all. I would've even been alright if someone did Chihiro since he fits the theme
I know it's anime and thus it can be open for interpretation, but come on. I don't know who I would've picked to fit the theme, but I can guarantee you that it would fit far better and make far more sense than the options presented in the video
