My mom told me she thinks Yato from Noragami has an actual medical condition that makes you sweat more than normal and I haven't been the same since
I wonder what I should do about my Japanese language ability. Ever since I started learning it I've been terrified of forgetting it from not practicing. Mom used to be bilingual but she forgot almost all of it after high-school aside from a few phrases and words. I want to actually continue practicing so I can be fluent. It may seem strange because of my love for anime, but I feel like there's only so much stuff like that can do for you. I still have all of my old workbooks and textbooks. Some of the lessons we never got to. I was wondering if maybe I should try to teach myself those lessons? I've looked into educational videos on the Internet and apps and programs too but a lot of them look like they're for people who are either just learning the language or just want to speak it casually. I need a more advanced video that's tailored to the level I'm at currently. I took the language for four years, you know, and had to use it on an almost-daily basis at school. I am too advanced for the basic videos.
So, what should I do? Try to teach myself using my old workbooks? Or is there some sort of advanced video series or app I can actually use to strengthen my skill and also continue my education?

You could also use sites like Duolingo to refresh and practice. But yeah if you don't practice you WILL forget most of it. I haven;t done Spanish since the 10th grade and I've forgotten most of it save for simple words.

It actually is a real medical condition but it's one of those conditions where even though a lot of people have it there's no way to know for sure because nobody's going to report that because, you know, it's just sweating and nothing super life-threatening. That's why a lot of medical professionals recommend you get it checked out believe it or not if you think you sweat a lotYeah I've watched it, though I've only seen the first season lol Yukine is my bae and I ship him and Hiyori. I even named my character in Dream Boyfriend Yukine lol
Does Duolingo even have Japanese though? And if they do, does it have more advanced levels aside from like basic? Since even though I do need to practice, I also want to take it to the next level. I didn't take Japanese for fun, I took it because I genuinely respect the language and want to visit Japan one day Do you know of any Maya? I'd be a bit intimidated at first though but I can handle it lol

You can also do a "placement test" which is exactly what it sounds like, so people already familiar with the language don't have to go over the basics
^ everything they said about the placement testsI took German classes but I use Duolingo to practice in my spare time, it's okay-ish but sometimes these weird sentences that don't make much sense come up. E.g. "write this sentence in German: the bee ate the duck. "
Also just putting it out there, Duolingo notifications can be ANNOYING AF. Remember to unsubscribe from their emails.
One of my best friends is Japanese, though we haven't talked in a while since she's crazy busy with college and going abroad plus I don't think she's doing okay these days. HOWEVER. I asked you cuz you can download an app called HelloTalk and find native speakers. Basically they teach you their language, you teach them your's. The match-ups are pretty neat and fair, if you speak intermediate Japanese, they'll match you up with a native speaker who speaks intermediate English. I use it for German (again) People are really open and sweet, since everyone's goal is to learn a language. Also!!! In case you feel intimidated, there's a translation function and you can double check before you hit send :) ALSO. There's this really really helpful correction thing and it's how you and your match-up can correct each other's mistakes in whatever you typed.
I hope this helps! You can try dipping your toes first and if Hellotalk doesn't work out or in case you already know about it I'll think of something else~

EXTREMELY UNPOPULAR OPNION: I don't find those 'ironic TikTok/Musically memes' videos funny. Or the ones that are full of videos that are supposed to be 'cringey' Not only do I actually like the App itself, but I think it's mean. Yes, there are tons of twelve-year-old thots and f**kboys who do gross stuff on there like twerk and stick their tongues out and flip people off. Yes a lot of what they do is stupid or misinformed and ruins the illusion. But they're pretty young and being stupid is just a side-effect of being young. I don't really appreciate children being made fun of like that unless they really are being offensive or racist or whatever. But a lot of the ones I've seen are just teenagers having fun! I know that if I saw somebody making fun of something I put on the Internet at that age, I would literally be broken and upset.
Sure, some people say it's all in good fun, and maybe some of it is, but the ones I've seen are just making fun of people.
And I know I might not have a right to talk, seeing as how I watch cosplay TikToks which some would argue are even worse. But at least the cosplay community respects each other on TikTok from what I've seen. And the cosplayers are pretty clean and PC. I know some do stuff like stick out their tongues and flip people off, but I forgive it if they're trying to stay in-character. Some fictional characters are jerks
So yeah. I hate seeing people who are genuinely just having a good time be insulted and made fun of. Just my own personal opinion though

I just thought it was slow-moving and boring. I did watch it when I was a bit young so I’ve been thinking of giving it another try since I think I could handle topics like that better, but if I do it won't be for quite a long time because I have a lot of other stuff to actually finish on my plate My mom considers it to be among one of the best on her list though

Alright so somebody got their hands on Diabolik Lovers Chaos Lineage and translated the prologue so now I actually have a sense of the basic plot It’s basically about Karlheinz pleased because his plan is about to come into fruition. Yui is Queen, her husband is a powerful vampire king and she’s several months pregnant with their child. Once the child is born, Karlheinz will die as his last amount of power is sapped from his body. His best friend however grows jealous at the thought of losing him, and thinks of the chess game. He selfishly uses his magic to erase Yui and the boys’ memories, locking them in a power-struggle for the throne. Whoever is the last one standing is worthy of the throne in his mind.
Yui wakes up chained in a church with no memory aside from the fact she is Eve. Instantly Reiji, Laito, and Ayato show up and literally fight for her. She manages to undo her chains and tries to escape, only to run into a guy and gets taken back to his house(you choose)
Whoever you pick then tells you him and his brothers are locked in a game for the throne with the other houses and how it was written in the prophecy that whoever rescued the sleeping princess from the church wound rule. However they don’t trust you and are afraid of you trying to escape; one group locked you in prison and thus they assign a guard to watch you. Yui manages to talk them into letting her have a day to think about it, then they arrive the next morning asking again who she wants to be her guard. Yui thinks about how she is drawn to a certain guy, how he feels familiar though she doesn’t know why, and that she feels like he’ll be very pleased if she picks him; then you choose who you want
The three houses are Scarlet with Yuma, Kino, Shu and Reiji as the head, Orange with Kanato, Ruki, Shin, and Ayato as the head, and Violet is...everybody else lol they’re also the ones who lock you in prison
I do have to say I’m not a fan of them losing their memories. The series does this a lot and it’s kind of old in my opinion. However, maybe they’ll put a twist on it.
Like in the previous games Ayato and Kanato tolerate each other but in this one Kanato is very snarky towards him
So maybe they’re putting a spin on the other relationships

I told my mom about an author who stalked a reviewer and is now publishing a book about it to pretty much be like 'omg look at me, i'm so cute and quirky i stalked someone!!!' and literally her first statement was: "Why can't she just write a blog post about it?" Lol

HeyI sometimes have that too and I used to scream into a pillow or stomp my foot but that'll create more drama or noise, so try taking a minute by yourself, go to an empty room and maybe hug a pillow tight/punch it/hide your face in it till the feelings go away? Not sure if it'll work for you but I'm here *hugs*

It looks like we failed our inspection a few days ago because the person who did it sent a report back that said the floors and windows weren't cleaned and thus the house was deemed unsanitary. My mom was incredibly pissed off and spent the entire evening ranting and raving about it to pretty much everyone, talking about how she doesn't want people to come into her house and then try to tell her she's doing a poor job
She actually did clean the windows and floors, I watched and even had to help her. She says she knows she could've done a better job on the floors, but she can't get on her hands and knees and scrub it thoroughly. But even then it shouldn't matter
She's now worried about us getting kicked out of our house for failing to complete sanitation measures
Frankly, I'm pissed off too. Not because of the inspection in general, but because there are people in this neighborhood with actual freaking meth labs in their houses. They have pets and children who tear up the house and trash it to the point you can barely walk in the door without falling over or onto something. I know, I've visited a lot of people in this neighborhood and they are all like that. And the houses, even if they're passably clean, they often reek of drugs or trash or alcohol. Hell we have a crow problem in my neighborhood because people dump their garbage in this huge field right across the street from my house. We have crows and rats and skunks and also stray, hostile animals that have attacked/bitten people.
So you know what? I say fuck them. They're going to come into our house that my mom literally cleaned mainly by herself for four straight hours and tell us it's not good? While other people fill their own houses with garbage and crack? How about judging the houses fairly? You're going to threaten to kick us out for not cleaning the fucking windows while the neighbors on our right side are meth dealers and leave their very young kids home alone for hours on end? Fuck you. Take that report of yours and fucking shove it. We're the best damn family you'll ever get in this fucking cesspool and you're just going to throw us out like that?
If I ever got a penname, I would pick something in another language so people who don't speak that language thinks it's something beautiful or witty, but the people who do speak that language would get confused and wonder why the heck I named myself that Right now I'm considering either Bokuko Bukkake or Bifauxen Otoko which I like because the two terms neutralize each other

The new promo for a game I follow released an updated version of the characters’ stats and before one of them was clearly thirteen years old while the rest were in their mid to late twenties. But this new version changed it to eighteen and I’m glad since him being that young makes literally no sense in the context of the story or world
