I was reading an article about gendered toys and what parents could do about it, but I didn't really like the overall tone of the article. It made it seem like kids who like gendered toys were going to grow up and be a horrible stereotype; girls who like pink girly toys will grow up to be submissive, stupid housewives and boys who like stuff like Nerf guns will grow up to be really aggressive and tough. The article also said to lay out boundaries for children by saying stuff like 'I know you really like this princess toy, but it focuses on teaching you how to be pretty and I want you to learn how to be smart,' As if that mindset isn't any more damaging for a child?

A goddamn toxic waste dump. Seriously, it came with teeny-tiny little cars and you put the toxic waste dump together and there was a plot where the evil cars were trying to pollute the town with the waste and the good cars were trying to stop them and there was also a dumptruck just trying to do its job. I loved that toy so much, I played with it until it broke even when I lost all the cars. Hell, I was a tomboy as a kid! I loved gross stuff like that! I wouldn't be caught dead with a doll!
I don't really know what point I'm making. Maybe my point is....just let the kids play with whatever. Sure, some of what they play with as a kid will effect them as an adult. But isn't that the job of a parent? Even the article said that if your child is starting to display troubling behaviours to take them aside and talk to them. So just let kids be kids. I know tons of girls who played with exclusively boy stuff as a kid and grew up into a huge girly-girl. And I also know boys who played with girl toys and grew up into macho men. I don't know how that happens, but the human mind is complex.
I guarantee that your child will be okay, so let your girls play with their damn Barbies and your boys play with their damn Nerf guns and shut up and stop acting like this will turn them into horrible adults. It's the parents that make the kids, not the toys.

I saw something that said ‘how to tell the star sign just by their comments’ and it was literally the stupidest thing ever because as usual mine wasn’t even accurate. It said stuff like ‘back when I was backpacking’ which I don't even get, ‘why are you stressing out over stuff when you can just not give a fuck,’ ‘why are people nowadays so sensitive,’ ‘I’m always right,’ ‘this is the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard’ Though to be fair for once the others didn’t fit me either so

I got two new reviews on my incest fanfic on FanFiction.net and st first I was really excited to see what they said because well...it's for an obscure fandom and a ship nobody else likes. I was expecting to see either hate or somebody who was really grateful that I wrote something like that. It wasn't that. It was just two anonymous reviews by different people asking me to make a sequel to a story I wrote a while ago. Everybody asks me to write a sequel to it and it's honestly starting to get on my nerves.
It was a stupid warm-up I decided to post based on a theory my baby brother had about the twist when he was still early on in the first game. I thought it was a great twist and posted it just because I wanted to see what others thought. The story evidently was too dark and twisted for most people, which is weird coming from the Danganronpa fandom....
Even though I like the story, I have no desire to write a sequel to it even though I kinda want to since the whole point of the story was supposed to be 'horrible things have been done in the name of science and thus nobody wins' I feel like the revenge fic they want would ruin the point of the original. The scientists who did this to Makoto will go on living their lives. I did try to humanize Sayaka a bit and make her more dimensional by making her slightly regret what she's doing but also know it's for the good of humanity and research. Whereas the others don't seem to care at all.
I don't really want to write a sequel and I'm honestly sick of people requesting it. Sometimes I've thought about even taking the story down especially since it wasn't even my own idea, it was my baby brother's.
Thank goodness those reviewers were anonymous so I can just delete their comments. I know this may make me seem petty especially since all I do is cry and whine about wanting feedback, but if they're going to make useless comments like that then I'm not going to have it. At least ask for the sequel on the ACTUAL story
One of them said it was good but I really wonder if they even know what fandom it's from. I don't wanna be rude but....

Now why on Earth would I, a dumb white girl from the Midwest who has lived through one of the only time the Midwest had an Extreme Risk Day for severe weather, an incredibly severe late-year tornado outbreak, and a random high-end EF2 in the dead of winter, as well as had friends and family affected heavily by Andrew, Katrina, Irene, Sandy, Harvey, and Alberto be concerned about the NWS' ability to predict severe weather accurately and timely?

It’s a reference to a dating simulator basically where in English one of the guys calls your character ‘pancake’ because she’s ‘flat’ but it’s stupid while in Japanese it’s ‘flat-chested princess’ and I like that better That's all it is

The thing that grinded my gears the most about it was the reviewer complaining about that scene where Mare is in pain and powerless because she’s locked in a special prison cell made to negate her powers and make her feel ill as a result of it. Mare described the cell as being very nice and spacious with a granite sink and huge bed and stuff like that.
The reviewer said that it was obvious Victoria Aveyard was a privileged white woman who had never spent a day in someone else's shoes because she thinks an idea of a ‘horrible prison cell is one with a fucking granite sink’
I don’t wanna insult the reviewer, but it’s really hard to just not call her the ‘b’ word for her obvious lack of reading comprehension. Yeah the author is white and I can understand hating her since she has said some pretty strange things. But.
THE POINT OF THE CELL BEING A PRISON WAS BECAUSE IT WAS MADE SPECIFICALLY TO NEGATE MARE’S POWERS AND MAKE HER FEEL INCREDIBLY ILL AND WEAK. MAXON IS IN LOVE WITH HER AND IS ALSO KING SO HE MADE THE CELL ALL PRETTY FOR HER. BUT IT IS STILL A CELL BECAUSE DAY BY DAY MARE IS FORCED TO SIT IN GREAT AMOUNTS OF PAIN WHILE MAXON HAS HIS WAY WITH HER
If I shout that will it make you understand? I don’t respect your opinion at all yet I am still using my reading comprehension for your review. You chose to let your hatred of white women get in the way of writing a reasonable review that makes sense
The whole point was not that Mare was whiny for being put in a nice cell, it was because she cannot escape and is in large amounts of pain from her powers being cancelled out by the special rocks in the room. She has to let her mortal enemy insult her and touch her because she is literally powerless
Why can’t you talk about that instead of you wanna get offended instead of missing the point entirely? Yeah white peopls suck I guess but that doesn’t give you the right to twist the words of a book around to fit your own thoughts just because you don’t respect the author or because you just don’t get it yourself
and by the way the “”””review””” was literally nothing more than the reviewer complaining about Victoria Aveyard being a privileged white woman because that’s totally what the review section on this website is for now
