My mom said there is no greater love interest for Sherlock Holmes than Moriarty because nobody loves Sherlock more than Moriarty does and I died laughing

Why do the vast majority of books set in the Victorian-era have to be boring mysteries? That's one of the reasons I've stayed so far away from that time period for so long. There was more to that time period than just solving mysteries!
Probably because of things like Jack the Ripper
Mom said it's because of Sherlock Holmes which I could see but still. If they have to be mysteries they should be interesting mysteries! Not fifty-something white guys trying to investigate murdered children dropped off bridges. Like Black Butler is a mystery manga but I really like that since the mystery is definitely part of the story, but the focus is also on the characters and how they're affected by everything. And it probably also helps that the characters are all teenagers so they get to go places and see things you don't see normally in books like that, like that arc when they have to investigate a prep school. It has its problems of course but I love the series so much that I genuinely forget that each arc is centered around a mystery and technically you have to figure out who did it.
Ugh I feel so sick. How can people my age sleep for monstrous amounts of hours at a time and feel great? I literally feel like I’m about to puke. I hate sleeping for so long

February has always been a big tornado month for us though, ever since records have begun. And a few destructive tornadoes in my state has occurred in February. One of the winter weather safety charts details how common tornadoes are in the winter for us and how you should be even more prepared for a winter tornado than a spring or summer one. I don't think global warming has much to do with it.

I was more making a joke but that could be part of it. I mean in recent years freak weather has increased but also there's the fact that the warm air is around longer so it's easier to form.It's not impossible for a tornado to form in the winter but in general it's less likely. That's why tornadoes aren't something you hear about in like, Britain.

But tornadoes do happen in England lol In fact England is one of the European nations with the most tornadoes reported yearly. The first F5 tornado ever recorded was in England. I love reading about Victorian-era tornadoes because unlike meteorologists in places like France or America or Germany or even Russia British meteorologists had no idea what on Earth a tornado was or what to do when one formed lol Yes I know that even today we still know very little about them, but I meant that back then meteorologists at least had a basic idea of the weather conditions they formed in as well as what to do should one occur. But British people didn't even have a name for them yet
*Shrugs* i've heard they're a rare occurrence there. Some foreigners I know thought that tornadoes were an "Only in America" kind of deal. Not in the usual "wow that's stupid" way, of course :p but in that nowhere else really has the right conditions.
Apparently some school districts have been closed down due to the flu outbreak and how many students and teachers are getting sick. My state is one of the areas with a huge amount of outbreak, though no schools in my town have been closed obviously. But this just makes me concerned for obvious reasons
Nope. Europe and several places in Asia get tornadoes. Even Canada gets tons of tornadoes. I think we're the most famous for it because our tornadoes can get really destructive very quickly and we have lots of outbreaks. I've already mentioned England but France, Italy, Germany, Russia, Poland, Ukraine, Belarus, Denmark, China, Japan, and Bangladesh have all gotten tornadoes in recent years. Many significant too.
I almost had a heart attack when I saw we had a warning but then realized it was just a flash flood warning lol

When we had that tornado warning earlier Mom made me actually get out of the closet I was hiding in and get back on the computer and look up if it was an actual tornado or not since she didn’t want me to waste twenty minutes of my afternoon just crouched in a closet
My mom got mouthwash a few days ago and now it’s almost gone because my brothers believe if they use it enough they won’t have to brush their teeth at all and I’m pretty sure that’s not how that works
I don't know why but I've always found it kinda funny how I really don't care what people do in their lives or what they believe but the moment I want to RP with someone and they say 'no lgbt+ characters allowed' I just wanna serve them a new one. Like I very rarely if ever RP LGBT+ romances because I prefer heterosexual ones but the moment someone tries to ban me from even making an LGBT+ character my gears get grinded

Yeah mouthwash helps your breath and can also whiten your teeth if you get a specific whitening one.

I know I shouldn't judge such people but I feel like a lot of those people who make that rule are anti-LGBT. Like, I've been in groups where the creators of the groups wouldn't do anything LGBT themselves but have no problems if other members make characters or couples like that. Whereas if you make a group and have one of the major rules be absolutely NONE LGBT stuff....doesn't that seem to be kinda....suspicious?

I feel like it's similar to something like 'don't make any ethnic characters' or something like that. They'd be called out for being a racist, as they should be. But being homophobic is different? Well, at least they're not Imperialists I suppose....
I don't really know what I'm supposed to do? Am I looking at the wrong listing? A lot of the para jobs I've been looking at say that they require prior experience to working in a school/learning environment. Mom told me that the teacher said I didn't need to have any prior experience for this job, so what is all of this? From what I understand, I won't actually be teaching or anything, I'll just be doing things like making copies, so why is teaching experience needed? Was I given wrong information? I'm so confused. And it looks like a lot of these listings are for schools I absolutely do not want to work for as well
My middle brother made me get into a video chat with our dad for a bit a few days ago and it surprisingly wasn't as awful as I was expecting. He asked me what I was currently doing and when I told him about me applying to be a para he sounded really proud and actually congratulated me! I can't remember the last time he actually legit praised me genuinely and not in a mocking way. He said he doesn't want to feel like he's forcing himself back into our lives but at the same time he still wants to check up on us and even see if we're willing to give him a visit. I also got to talk to my stepmom whom I actually like so that was nice. It was just strange for me to hear him praise me so highly and genuinely sound happy for me.
I thought he stopped talking to you guys long ago? Or am I thinking of someone else?Regardless, I'm glad you got to see him!
