From what I've seen almost everything on AO3 is smut lol And that kinda intimidates me too. I don't have a problem with that, honestly, my only qualm is that while I have written fanfics with sex scenes in them, they're only one part or even just one scene of the entire fanfic and I would be really wary about how to tag my fanfic, as I would want to tag the sex scene and what it is but at the same time, I wouldn't want people to think the entire fanfic was that when it's not. But I can't just not tag the sex scene especially because they're all important to the plot; like I wrote one that is important to describe because it shows a character's slow corruption and also explains how the main character gets pregnant later on. But the actual fanfic is about the series from a side character's perspective, that sex scene is literally just a tiny part of it.
That's a qualm of mine and one of the main reasons why I've held off on registering on AO3 for as long as I have, because my sex scenes in my fanfics throw me for a loop. I'm not sure how to tag them properly without making the entire story seem like a smut when it's not, and also how to not downplay the sex scenes since they're still an important part of what I'm writing

I saw lol I'll respond to that in a moment, then I'll post Keiko in the school library

That was already my goal. Have both accounts; FanFiction.net would still remain my main account but AO3 would serve as a secondary place for my fics to get more traffic

My Brain: "Make more UU characters"
Me: "But why?"
My Brain: "Just do it"
Me: "But I barely RP with the ones I currently have!"
My Brain: "DO IT"

Speaking of which I really should be more serious about this whole author thing. I'm still a bit hesitant about that one scene in my debut novel because I know I'll be crucified on social media and this site for it, so I'm hoping I can add in some other stuff to lessen the blow per say

Me: "I know, right?! Now you finally get it!"

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you too! I'm probably one of the few people spending the holiday season on the Internet though lol

It's a GiantMicrobe, a stuffed animal modeled after the cholera germ
https://www.giantmicrobes.com/us/prod...
Mom thought I really wanted one and so she finally got me one. I named my cholera Inessa after Inessa Armand, a mistress of Lenin who was the very first woman to ever be buried in Red Square and also one of the very first women to receive a state funeral.

It's normally kinda slow anyway, but I've learned to be patient. But with how it's acting today....it's not only frustrating but almost unplayable
Plus there's an event going on right now that ends on Sunday and I really need to finish it to get the prize at the end but if I can't play the game then I can't do the event

2018 was the first time I've ever heard K-Pop played on a mainstream radio station
What will 2019 bring in regards to K-Pop?

Where do you stand on lotion: yay or nay? Why?
I don't really use lotion myself since I have no personal use for it. But I don't really care if others use it, or if they let me borrow some to use.
What’s the average length of a shower for you? A bath?
I usually spend anywhere from ten minutes to twenty minutes in a shower, and at least thirty minutes in a bath.
What’s something you regret buying, but you just can’t get rid of it?
This one volume of a manga series. I only bought it to finish off the series, but now I'm stuck with it.
What villain do you believe is most worthy of a redemption arc?
Someone who is passionate about what they do but you understand why they do it, even if you don't like what they do, especially if they were manipulated into believing what they were doing was a good thing. A good example is Finis from Code;Realize, in the games at least, because he used to be a decent person who got manipulated and tricked into believing this certain way. But even when the person manipulating him is gone, Finis still has troubles coming to terms with all of the horrible things he has done, most of all raping his sister. But he knows that despite that, Cardia saw the goodness in him and saved his life, so he decides to turn his life around just for her, and I believe he deserves the redemption arc he got in his route because he's a very complex character. A lot of people just write him off as some creep with a big crush on his sister, and while he definitely does love Cardia romantically, I'm not denying, I just know there's more to him than that. In fact, his crush is one of the reasons why he does what he does and it adds more layers to his character.
What was your favorite school project you ever made?
In tenth grade my Japanese class was doing a unit on shopping. To help us practice better, we each had to pick a partner and we had to work together to make a store. We had to design it, pick what products to sell, the theme of the store, and also write an introduction for our store in a paragraph. All in Japanese, of course. I got paired with Hunter-senpai and we quickly decided on doing a maid lolita cafe sort of thing. I was a bit miffed that I ended up having to do a lot of the work due to how busy Hunter-senpai ended up being, but perhaps it was for the best. She dressed up as a Victorian butler and I dressed up as a Victorian maid and even though the two of us were incredibly awkward having to introduce our store, I think it worked out. To this day I still remember how much fun I had doing that project and how much effort and creativity we both put into it. Japanese class was never short of fun projects but that one is still my favourite.
What role do you take on when you have to do a group project? (for example: leader, delegator, slacker, etc.)
I'm usually the one who has to keep an eye on everyone else and make sure they're doing the work in the time we have. I also try to split up the jobs and make sure that the person is doing the job they're assigned to properly.
What’s a funny mistake you’ve made recently?
I'm not sure...lol
What would be your reaction if one of your parents said they were having another kid?
I'd be super shocked and have a lot of questions, for obvious reasons. And I'd also be a bit...upset. Our house can barely fit four people in it, let alone five. And we can barely feed ourselves. While I do kinda want another sibling, I know that realistically that's just not possible.
What were you almost named as a baby?
If I were a boy, Mom would've named me Jonathan. But she always wanted her first girl to be named Elizabeth no matter what.
What book have you been avoiding reading and why?
Lately I've just been avoiding books in general lol
Favorite head phone brand?
Beats I guess?
Favorite scent?
Mint
Favorite idiom?
Water under the bridge
How many friends do you have that don’t live in the same country as you?
A lot on GoodReads, actually. But I don't mind that because it shows the love of a book transcends entire cultures.
What is always in your wallet that doesn’t need to be?
An old pencil that I take out to chew on occasionally.
How big is too big for a wallet?
The size of a small purse, basically. At that point you might as well just be carrying a purse.
What class did you write the best notes in? What grade did you get?
Always English class. Even when I wasn't performing my best the teachers all still knew I had that spark of brilliance in me. I think the lowest grade I've ever gotten in English was a C+.
What was your pet peeve when you had a substitute teacher in school?
That the sub always had no idea what was going on or what we were even learning. I know a lot of people like subs and whatnot because they think they can relax, take it easy, and watch a movie or something but that was never the case for any of my classes. I swear they would deliberately pick subs who had no experience in that class. Japanese subs were always the worst. They were always these super old, white-as-bread people who would always look at my class and treat the language itself like the Japanese did something bad to them and that we were all traitors for learning it. Seriously.
What is a strange red flag you have when pursuing a relationship?
If the person is really super weird about how my family spends their time. Like if they start asking stuff like 'why does your mom like that show? isn't it like garbage?' or stuff like that. I don't care if people judge me but they need to leave my family alone.
What do you look for in someone’s online dating profile?
What sorts of interests they have and their sexuality too of course, for obvious reasons.
How many people have you thought “Glad I don’t have to interact with them ever again” about?
Probably my ex-boyfriend.
What do you NOT want on your tombstone?
Probably some dumb joke about me.
How many couches do you want in your residence?
Two or three.
What is the strangest website you have bookmarked?
Some Chinese file-sharing website that disguised itself as Twitter. I needed to save a picture on that website for later.
What is your typical number of windows/tabs open on your computer?
Right now I have seventy-three tabs open on the laptop and three hundred, sixty-six open on the iPod.
How often do you restart your computer? Your phone?
The laptop restarts itself a bunch without my permission, so...as for the iPod I never have to restart that.
Do you follow the expiration date on food?
Yes, actually! I try to throw out anything that hits that date but I always get in trouble with Mom who always says 'food doesn't expire right when the date hits. it expires at least a few days afterwards, stop being so wasteful,'
What is the coolest name that you would never name a real human child?
Odessa maybe?
What fish scares you the most?
I'm not really scared of any fish lol
How do you feel about snails?
They're okay I suppose. I got bit by one once when I was younger.

Red: What type of writer’s block do you experience the most?
Ideas. By that I mean I need everything to be laid out perfectly from start to finish in a way that makes sense that a lot of people would like. If I can't figure it out, I get stuck and fall into a bad funk that prevents me from writing.
White: Are you a supporter/lover of fanfiction?
Both, of course! I think writing fanfic can really help a lot of people discover their love for writing and help them improve over the years.
Black: Would you want to live in one of the fictional worlds you’ve created?
Perhaps. Most of my worlds are worlds that already existed. But a few I wouldn't mind living in, like the society from my time-travel series or the sci-fi South America of the future in one of my sci-fi books.
Blue: What’s more important to you: characters or plot?
Characters make the story if they're good and well-written. Fantastic characters can take the most cliche and boring of stories and make it into something interesting and good. If the plot is good but the characters are poorly-written, then what's the point? The idea is appealing but you don't like or care about the characters going on their journey. Good characters save a bad plot, but bad characters can ruin even a good plot.
Yellow: What’s a common writing tip that you mostly ignore?
Doing writing warm-ups. To be fair, it's not that common advice to give, but I've been taught it a lot and I tend to ignore it simply because I'm not very confident enough to do stuff like that.
Grey: What’s a common writing tip that you almost always follow?
Pretty cliche but write every day, every chance that you get.
Orange: How many projects do you usually have going at once?
Too many to count! But I usually tend to limit my work to three or four stories at a time, maybe even five if one of the others is almost finished or finished and needs editing.
Pink: Which of your characters would become your best friend?
Amanda Gwen from my time-traveler series. She's modeled after how I feel I'd be as a time-traveler, so I imagine we'd be really close and have fun traveling to different eras together.
Purple: Which of your characters would become your sworn enemy?
Not sure, to be honest. Mykola Boyko? He's not really bad, he's just a super obnoxious and annoying little brother and I already have enough experience with those. I just can't see us getting along.
Green: Pencil, typewriter, or computer?
Computer
Brown: Do you have a set writing space? Or do you write everywhere?
I write anywhere there is a computer, basically.
Silver: Are you comfortable writing in public places?
Yes, actually. I don't really care or even mind who looks at my screen. I just get annoyed because evidently I type really loudly and that bothers other people.
Gold: Do your stories usually contain lessons or morals?
To be honest, not really. The characters themselves often have to learn about certain things during their arcs, obviously, but I don't really have anything for the reader to learn.
Clear: Do your characters control where the story goes or do you maintain control?
It depends on how invested I am in writing the story. A few times characters have ended up being the total opposite of their original appearance or personality that I planned out for them.
Tan: Are you open to co-writing a story?
Absolutely! I would love to co-write with someone else. Two genera I write in, sci-fi and historical fiction have often been cowritten in recent years especially in YA. I'm so excited to see what my co-author would offer to bring to the table in the story.

What I'm trying to say is, a lot of historians seem way too trigger-happy with that word and slap it onto any historical figure who crossdressed for a certain period of time in their life. A lot of people in history though crossdressed because they had to. Women especially. For many of them it was illegal for them to hold jobs and even if they could, they wouldn't be taken very seriously or promoted. A lot of women who crossdressed historically took female lovers and a few even married (illegally) Many of them either make no comment on their gender or still see themselves as still being a female, just one who crossdresses. Yet historians still say they're transgendered because they crossdressed and took female lovers. I don't know, but doesn't that seem to be...lesbian erasure?
It also seems to fall into that whole mindset of 'anyone who crossdresses is transgendered' that I still a lot of today, which totally disregards any other reason for crossdressing, like convenience, preference, comfort, etc. I mean, I crossdressed for a few years when I was younger, and I also am attracted to girls. By that logic, I am a transgendered man. Even though I do not feel like a man nor do I wish to become one. But that's the mindset of some of these historians.
I believe a lot of the women and men that are labeled as transgendered by history were actually just gay/lesbian crossdressers who crossdressed for ease. Yes, there were trans historic people and we shouldn't erase them. History was a different time though and people back then had different opportunities and dilemmas presented to them than we do nowadays, and I feel like a lot of them shouldn't be judged by modern sexuality terms anyway. For the longest time I wondered where all of my badass crossdressing historic lesbians were. Now I'm starting to wonder if they were here all along, just labeled as transgendered men instead.

reflect: what are 3 things you have accomplished this year that you are proud of?
1. Participated in a shipping week for a fandom I'm in
2. Went to the swimming pool by myself
3. Actually made major progress in a lot of my RPs
aspire: what are 3 things you want to achieve next year?
1. Getting a job
2. Finally being able to get books from the library again
3. Make a new friend in real life
inspire: who is someone who made this past year better?
I'm...actually not really sure. Most of my friends were either too busy to talk to me much in the latter half of the year and I had a falling out with quite a few as well. So I don't know. I suppose...hm. I really don't know...
flourish: in what ways have you grown as a better person this year?
I feel like I've grown more mature, as I feel every other year.
envision: the day i am most looking forward to next year is ... because ...
May 24th because that's when the live-action Aladdin comes out! Mom and I are going to see it together.
presume: what is something you expected to happen this year, but didn't?
I was expecting to finally enroll in college, but obviously that didn't happen.
connect: who is someone new you met this year that you wouldn't be the same without?
Definitely a friend of mine on GoodReads named Maya.
alter: name 3 ways your life is going to positively change next year.
1. I'm going to have a job and my own money.
2. I'm going to take my wish of becoming an author and become more serious about it, actually settling down and getting my debut novel done.
3. I'm going to get back into reading some more books.
heal: name 5 ways you are going to make next year better.
1. Pay more attention to the people around me and what they want.
2. Pay more attention to myself and my general status.
3. Stop caring so much about what my fanfics are about and just finish them already.
4. Being less afraid and walking around downtown after sunset.
5. Being more active in my community, with my friends, and in my life overall.
memorize: describe in detail the happiest day you've had this year.
I read a really good fanfic earlier in December. It really set the bar for fanfics from that fandom super high, and that was already a cosmically-high bar in the first place to begin with. I paid the author a really generous review and got a message from them thanking me, which I expected. It wasn't a big deal. Until a day or two later when I found out they favourited a fanfic of mine from that same fandom and commented on it, leaving one of the best reviews I could have ever hoped to receive on such a fic. A fic that was based on a minor manga-only character that I took a lot of time and grievous research on...I still remember how elated I was when I received that notification. It's a recent memory of mine for sure but one that sticks out.
forecast: in 3 months i will be...
Making a huge chunk in the fanfics I need to finish.
foresee: in 6 months i will be...
Getting ready for another summer.
foreshadow: in 9 months i will be...
Working.
foretell: this time next year i will be...
Hopefully actually getting serious about my authorhood.
rejuvenate: name something you have learned to recover from or move past this year.
I've had to suck it up and deal with the fact that we're poor. And not just poor in the sense of 'oh I don't get something I want' but poor in the sense of literally not having anything to eat for a few days or more. That fact won't change for a while and I need to learn to live with that fact. It didn't become very apparent until this summer though for whatever reason.
discover: what are 5 things you've learned about yourself or life as a whole this year?
1. I can be the bigger person.
2. I'm braver than I look.
3. I don't have to be a part of things that make me uncomfortable, no matter how much fun they seem.
4. You don't know your parents as well as you think you do.
5. I am in control of my own destiny.
venture: name 3 new things you tried this year.
1. Participated in a shipping week for one of my fandoms, though I didn't really get very far into the week due to personal reasons
2. Wrote two harem fanfics; I've never written a harem fanfic before for anyone
3. Tried to bond with a guy Mom wanted to date
perspective: what's something you've changed your opinion on since the beginning of this year?
Lately I've been trying more and more to stop worrying about everything and just let things happen. Certain things will be as they are and sometimes that's okay. I've also been trying to be more spiritual and be more in touch with myself in a spiritual way. Not in like a hippy sense, but more in the sense of understanding my position in the universe and trying to figure out where I fit in...well, in my own life. Can I control my own life in some way or is it entirely out of my hands?
devote: describe a way in which you made a positive impact on someone else's year.
I think I've made at least a small positive impact on Maya's year. We haven't even been friends for that long but simply having someone in this group with mutual interests that we can talk about has done so much for not only me but her as well. My heart is warmed when I think of how much of a positive impact that I've made.
emerge: describe an experience this year that caused you to mature.
A friend of mine and I...I suppose you could call it a falling-out, but basically we were having disagreements with each other. At first I was just trying to ignore it, hoping it would just resolve itself, but it started getting worse. The friend in question was even starting to ignore me or snap at me. Eventually I decided I wasn't ready to lose another close friend of mine due to my stupid miscommunications, so I finally bit the bullet and approached them about it. Believe it or not it was a hard choice for me to make since I was afraid of making the person even more upset. Things still aren't a hundred percent back to normal for us, but they're a whole lot better and we're only at that point because I made that first step in approaching my friend and trying to resolve things peacefully. It's a huge change from me a year or so ago; I usually blew up at people who ignored me or snapped at me for no good or real reason.
positive vibes: you've made it through another year! i'm so proud of you and my year wouldn't have been the same without you <3
Errrr...nobody sent this to me and that makes me feel a bit sad...so I'll just say that another year has passed. Like the rest of my years, it had some good moments, and some bad. A mixed-bag of a year, but I'm still confident in saying it was a good year. Who knows what will happen next year. I'm more mature, I have new experiences, and I've done some new things and met some new people. I'd say 2018 was another good year for me. Despite all of its shortcomings I am quite pleased with how my year turned out.
