chocolate chip: what's your most popular post?
Going off the top of my head, I think that picture I posted of Japan and Nyo!Japan from Hetalia sitting on one of those carriages wealthy peple used in the Meiji Era. The art was stylized to look like an old photograph.

mango: when and why did you start your blog?
I started my Tumblr blog back in 2013, I believe, very late 2013. I started it because I had gotten deep into the Hetalia fandom at the time and there were so many good blogs for it, but I wanted a better way of communicating with fans and saving fanart, as well as getting fanfic recommendations. So I ultimately decided to start a Tumblr blog. I was originally strictly a Hetalia blog, but as the years have gone on I've reblogged other fandoms and so now I'm strictly a multifandom blog.

1: What eye color do you find sexiest?
I'd say green eyes. I always lean towards people who have that eye colour.
2: White, milk, or dark chocolate mocha?
Probably dark chocolate, that sounds really good.
3: If you could get a Sharpie tattoo on your back, what would it be?
A sun burst.
4: Did you grow up in a small or big town? Did you like it?
Most of the towns I lived in growing up were medium-sized. I usually lived near larger cities but not in them. I think I prefer living next to the city though because it's not as chaotic as living directly in the city, and at the same time, you're not far away from anything. But a lot of people still have no idea where you live. Like have you ever heard of Brookhaven? Or Paris? At one point I did live in Indianpolis but on the very edge of the city in a sububrub, I didn't live in the actual big city part.
5: Your favorite adult as a child? (and not your parents, if they were your favorite)
I always looked up to my teachers and tutors as a kid. I don't really know why....
6: What kind of smoothie sounds really good right now?
Strawberry-banana.
7: Most embarrassing moment from your elementary school years?
In fifth grade, we moved our gym class into a smaller room with carpet because an event was being held in the gym and we couldn't use it, obviously. I forgot what exactly what we were going to do, but I do remember the kid sitting behind me suddenly started to throw up and I hadn't even realized what had happened until some kids screamed and ran away. I screamed too because his vomit was literally a few inches away from my new leggings. Of course I got up and tried to run to the other side of the room too, but I tripped and fell and slid halfway across the room, pretty embarrassingly, and made some kids stop running to look at me. I was feeling good though and brushed it off by saying: "Hey! I could use that move in baseball!"
8: Most embarrassing moment from your middle school years?
For my eighth-grade band concert, we were to meet up in one of the classrooms to wait for our cue and I was told the wrong room by someone. So I walked right into the room where the seventh-graders were and yelled out: "I'M READY FOR THE SHOW!!!" Only to be met by several students wearing a different formal outfit from me all staring at me in curiosity, and I very quickly realized my mistake and said: "Whoops! Wrong room!" And shut the door, running away.
9: Most embarrassing moment from your high school years?
My second day of high school, my school operates on a block schedule so you have four classes one day, and then another four the other day and they alternate. So on my second day of high school, I was fifteen minutes late to my first class because I was trying to find it and had no idea I walked past it several different times. I eventually did find it and walked in when the teacher was in the middle of explaining stuff. I asked him really nervously if he was the teacher and class I was supposed to have, and he asked me if I was the missing student, and I nodded and took my seat. I kept trying to hide my face throughout the rest of the class though because of how embarrassed I felt.
10: Pirates or ninjas? Why?
Pirates because they get to go on all kinds of adventures and get treasure!
11: Have you ever climbed a tree more than twenty feet off the ground?
I tried to when I was younger once, but my parents ordered me to get down before I really got very far.
12: Did you like swinging as a child? Do you still get excited when you see a swing set?
I loved swinging! Every time I see a swingset I go swing on it. Mostly because half the time it's the only thing I can do at a playground without getting yelled at.
13: If you could have any pet in the world, illegal or not, what would you get?
A whale shark. True, I would need a massive bathtub to accomidate it, but I would enjoy having it.
14: What's your most favorite part of your body?
My hips maybe? I just find it fun to shake them sometimes when I'm all by myself.
15: What's your most favorite part of your personality?
My confidence!
16: Madonna or Lady Gaga? Neither? Both? Who cares?
Lady Gaga! I grew up with her music and I like her older stuff still. But Madonna is kinda cool too.
17: Have you ever watched the Superbowl all the way through?
No.
18: Have you ever watched any major sporting event drunk?
Nope, lol
19: What's the most delicious food you've ever eaten in your life?
The mac and cheese from Noodles and Company. I want to cry every time I eat it because of how good it is. That neighbor who my mom is friends with works there and I wonder if he could hook me up with some free mac and cheese because he likes me.
20: Margarine or butter? Which did you grow up with?
I think margarine? I remember Mom would use it a lot but she doesn't really like the taste of it. So most of the time we just use butter and I can't really taste much of a difference. Sometimes she switches them out and I can't even tell.
21: Whole, skim, 1%, or 2% milk? (Did you know they make 1 1/2% milk?)
No, I didn't know that, haha. And none of them because milk makes me really ill, but when I was younger I either had whole or 2% milk. I wanted skim milk because they were packaged with pink caps but Dad said I would hate skim milk.
22: Which continents have you been on?
Just North America.
23: Do you get motion sickness? Any horror stories?
I don't get motion sickness, actually. Though I haven't really had a chance to be on a plane or boat, so maybe I do. The worst experience would be when I went on Mission:Space at Epcot and I picked the more extreme experience that would shake the simulator because I thought I could handle it. At first I felt fine, but getting off the ride I was literally SOOOOOOO dizzy. The room, oh goodness, all I can remember was everything in the room was spinning super fast and uncontrollably. I couldn't even walk. God only knows what I looked like to the people around me. I didn't feel any nausea or anything, I just felt incredibly dizzy and that experience made me afraid of amusement park rides.
24: Backpacks or satchels?
Backpacks.
25: Would you wear a rainbow jacket? A neon yellow sweater? Checkered pants?
I would wear all of those, honestly. Not at the same time though!
26: What was your favorite cartoon growing up?
Grossology.
27: If you had to have a cow or a pig, which would you take? Why?
I'd take a pig because they're pink and adorable! And who wouldn't want a pig, honestly?
28: If you had to look at one city skyline for the rest of your life, which would it be?
The Osaka skyline because it's simple but pretty. And I bet people were expecting me to say Tokyo, huh?
29: Longest plane ride you've ever been on?
I think the only plane ride I've been on was a few hours long.
30: The latest you've ever slept?
Probably twenty-four hours? Though does that count because I was recovering from an illness at the time.
31: Would you buy a sweater covered in kitten pictures? Would you wear it if someone gave it you for free?
I wouldn't buy it, but if someone gave it to me then I'd wear it.
32: Do you pick at scabs?
Yeah, lol. Even though I know it's unhealthy and I shouldn't.
33: Favorite kind of bean? Kidney? Black? Pinto?
Uh, baked beans?
34: How far can you throw a baseball?
Depends on my physical health that day, but usually not very far.
35: If you had to move to another country, where would you move?
Maybe England purely because one of my Internet friends lives there? I could see her being really helpful in helping me get over my culture shock and help me adjust. If not England, then Switzerland.
36: Have you ever eaten Ethiopian food? Vietnamese? Korean? Nepalese? How was it?
I haven't eaten any of those, believe it or not.
37: Small, liberal arts school or public university? Why?
A public university because you're more likely to get the help you need and graduate sooner.
38: A relationship with love or one with sex?
A relationship with love. You can always find someone who's eager for a good time, but not everyone will love you. Someone who will is someone you want to hold onto.
39: Do you eat enough vegetables?
I don't think so, but I'm trying to eat better.
40: Do you like horror movies? How about thrillers?
It depends on the horror movie. Thrillers not so much, but if Mom makes me watch one or if I hear really good things about it, then I'll give it a try.
41: Would you scratch a crotch itch in public?
I uhhhh....do this a lot, actually. Though I'm pretty discreet about it and make it look like I'm adjusting my clothes.
42: Do you swear in front of your parents?
I swear in front of my mom, lol. I'm the only one who doesn't get punished for it, probably because A. I actually don't do it very much, and B. I'm not using it to insult my brothers lol
43: Coolest thing you've ever been for Halloween?
I want to say Juuzou Suzuya from last Halloween? Mainly because I love the character.
44: If you could change your natural hair color, would you? To what?
I'd prefer to be blonde like I was when I was younger. I think it fits my personality better.
45: Do you want to get married? Have kids?
Yes to both!
46: Do you use a reusable water bottle? If not, you should.
I have a plastic water bottle that's pink. It also doubles as a thermos and keeps cold things super duper cold.
47: City or nature person?
Nature. But I like to have both, you know?
48: Have you ever used something other than "makeup" as makeup? (Like paint? Markers?)
I sometimes use EXPO markers as nail polish, though when he still lived with us Dad would scold me for doing that. I've used paint a few times as lipstick and blush.
49: Can you walk well in high heels? Even if you're a guy?
Yeah. My friends were actually really impressed that I could.
50: Post 5 awesome things about yourself. BRAG AWAY!
1. I have so much self-confidence, like seriously things can never get me down because I'm so far up ahead, nothing is on my level.
2. I'm actually really good at writing??? Like I complain a lot but everytime I post parts of my writing I get nothing but praise so I suppose I made the right career choice.
3. I'm super friendly and approachable. I always want my friends to come to me with their problems. Even if I can't help I will always listen.
4. And I'm also great at making friends? Like most people just start talking to me once I break the ice because of how warm I am. A few really bitter people won't be swayed, but the majority are.
5. I am cute???? So freaking cute? And I got great boobs? That's all.

6. Describe a moment in which you did something unacceptable in a bad situation.
I had no idea what the context was, but I was unaware this girl was crying and I walked over to her because some people I knew were with her and I said I came over there to annoy people(in a joking way of course)and one of the girls said it wasn't the best time, and that's when I realized the crying girl. Long story short I ended up crying for literally no reason and almost embarrassing myself because the tears just woudn't stop.

How connected they make us. I think it says that I'm kinda superfical but also care about what's going on in the lives of my friends.
16. Why do people care about celebrities? Do you care about celebrities?
I think people care about celeberties because they're living better lives than us. It's so much easier to project our own insecurites onto celeberties instead of dealing with them ourselves in our own lives. I actually keep tabs on all my fave celebs! 17. What is the most annoying thing someone can do to you?
Be really clueless about something super obvious.
18. Do you overexaggerate? What are the pros and cons of this?

I can play the trombone and I've also played Japanese percussion as part of a dance troupe.

24. How do you cheer yourself up after a bad day?
Watch something really funny.
25. When was the last time you felt awkward?

Extroverted for sure.

I'd rather have a lot of friends.

Being personal shopper or maid.

Camp Half-Blood.
35. Describe the worst friend you have ever befriended.

40. Imagine that you are unable to express emotion. How would this affect your world?
I feel like I wouldn't have any friends....my happiness and optimism is what made so many people want to be around me. I know for a fact I wouldn't have my best friend....but at the same time I wouldn't be embarrassed whenever I had an angry outburst or randomly started to cry.

Yes, actually.
53. What have you learned the hard way?
That losing a reliable friend is far worse than losing your boyfriend, and you don't even get any sympathy for it.
54. What is the most important thing to have in order to attain happiness?
A good friend.
55. Which medium do you use for expressing your artistic emotions? (Singing, writing, etc.)
Writing.
56. Are you a creative or a logical thinker?
A creative thinker.
57. What is the smartest thing you have ever done?

I mainly play dress-up games or other girly stuff like that...
65. What is your opinion on beauty in today's society?
I think a lot of people don't care about beauty anymore. So many girls are just doing their daily routine looking like they literally woke up, because they did. And boys are just accepting that. They don't care. I'm not saying people should be literally killing themselves to look like a model, but for the love of God, can you at least put a goddamn bra on?
66. Are you a morning person? When do you usually wake up?
I am a morning person! I usually wake up at five, six, or sometimes seven or eight in the morning.

Not having any support from...well anyone, really. Nobody cares about adults.

79. Most prominent childhood memory?
Almost every other day I think about that time I ate far too much; a bad binging episode and how that night I projectile-vomited for the first and only time in my life. I don't remember the actual sensation, but I do remember the vomit being sprayed from my mouth all over the bathroom. Some landed in the toilet, but most of it was on the walls, the floor, the toilet seat, the sink, some of it went behind the toilet, and the vomit was super chunky and a dark brown and I don't remember if I yelled or cried or if the vomiting session was just really loud but I remember my parents coming in afterwards and my dad telling me since I was sick I wasn't going to school the next day and my mom cleaning the vomit up and saying: "There's some behind the toilet! It was from the force of the throw-up," And I remember just standing there frozen, my eyes wide, absolutely horrified because I knew I wasn't sick. I had this happen because I ate so much my body couldn't handle it. I knew something was seriously wrong with me. I knew my parents still suspected nothing unusual. And I also knew I had no idea what was actually wrong with me.
80. Imagine if you had an older brother. If you already have one, what is it like? If you don't, how would this change your life?
If I had an older brother...I would be more open to the 'big brother-little sister' trope in media. I would have someone to protect me and I wouldn't feel strange for being an older sister. I would understand all of those 'annoying older brother' stories and I would have someone to rely on, someone to laugh with, someone who would always tell me I was worth it, someone who would beat up anyone who dared to treat me wrongly.
81. Spirit animal?
A butterfly maybe? Or a peacock.
82. Do you believe in horoscopes?

My best friend, my mom, my grandmother
85. Favorite memory of your family.
This elementary school my baby brother used to go to used to hold a picnic for all the families who had children who attended in August. The first year, Dad didn't want to go so it was just my brothers, Mom, and I. We had to bring a dish and Mom made pasta salad. It was a lot of fun to just see other older siblings and play on the playground and eat some good food. The next year, Dad wasn't there anymore so it was just the four of us again. But we brought a big blanket this time so we could eat on this big field next to the playground and we all sat down and ate. Not sure if it counts but I love that memory because of how peaceful everything was and how good the food was.
86. What do you look for in a relationship?
Someone who will help me through thick and thin, someone who I know will have a long-lastin friendship with me.
87. Do you have a role model? Why or why not?
My role model is Demi Lovato because of how much she perserves. She can get through anything regardless of what it is. She is more than my childhood icon, she is my life icon.
88. What is your opinion on social media?
It's really good to connect with your friends or find people who share common interests with you. I hate how it has such a bad rep.
89. Are you a pessimist or an optimist?
An optimist, though I tend to see both sides of a problem. Like my thought process is usually 'oh no, they're all out of what I came to get...I shouldn't have come here...but hey! I got out of the house, and look, they still have the other thing I like!! So I can just get that instead!'
90. List some things that you think are overpriced?
Food, clothes, electronics, surgery

Become a really cold person who puts others down to feel better about themselves.
94. What lessons have you learned from movies and which movies were they?
Not really a movie but this one anime called Servamp has a lot of good life lessons in it that I try to apply to my real life. The one that speaks the most to me personally is the fact that if you want people to actually help you with your emotions, you have to understand what it is you're actually feeling instead of just saying 'oh I'm fine' because if you don't even know what's wrong, then how are your friends going to know what's wrong with you?
95. If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?
I'd want to visit Japan.
96. How do you approach people?
Study them for a while to determine what we'll talk about, like see if they're holding a manga or anything, and then walk right up to them and strike up a conversation about that.
97. What is your opinion on first impressions?
They are the most important thing. To me, it tells me if I'm going to be kind or rude to you in future encounters.
98. What are some things you did as a child that you no longer do?
Uhhhhhh....*embarrassed* pick my nose and eat the boogers....I was also super clumsy and would trip over air. I've gotten much better balance as I've gotten older. I also used to have a bad sense of humor, but I feel like most kids do.
99. What languages can you speak?
English and Japanese.
100. What do you think society will be like in 30 years?
More technogically-advanced. It will be easier to access certain things, harder to access other things. And hopefully having sex in VR is a thing.
(Part 2 because the original was far too big to fit all in one post)

Watch a bunch of videos about pretty much nothing. Like they don't tell me anything, they're pretty much pointless but I have nothing else to do so why not?

I've had several about tornadoes hitting my house....they really scared me.
105. When was the last time you got seriously angry?
When my dad promised to take the three of us up to his house to visit, but then the very day we were to visit, he sent us a FaceBook message with some bullshit excuse that anybody could tell wasn't true. That was a few months ago and I remember not being angry in the sense of yelling or breaking things, but feeling very disappointed and having a pang in my chest. I didn't even want to speak to him after that and I don't speak to him at all anyway.
106. What was the last friendship you broke?
I didn't break off any friendships.
107. Do you have any pet peeves?

108. Who was the last person you gave a hug to?
My grandma!
109. When was the last time you got seriously stressed?

How easily nervous I get. I want to be able to just do something and not have a laundry list of possible negative outcomes all thought-out.
111. Who is the most positively influential person in your life right now?
My mom, believe it or not.
112. What is your biggest motivation?
Seeing other people doing a better job than me and I know for a fact I can be better.
113. What did you want to be when you were little?
A ghost hunter.

Writing, reading, swimming
115. What is one thing you want to be good at?
Drawing.

People talking and being really rowdy. People whispering doesn't bother me, but I get bothered if their voices get loud.
117. How important is privacy to you?
Not very important? Like I don't really share my address or full name online for obvious reasons but if people want to know stuff like my city, bra size, or what I threw up last night, or even if they don't want to know, I'm happy to share. I think certain stuff shouldn't be kept private.
118. If you could create one social norm, what would it be?
Smiling at everyone you see in the street.
119. What's the craziest lie you've ever told?
That I was a mermaid, lol. I've also told people that I owned a boutique and a jelly store.
120. What story do you like to tell about yourself at parties?
The very first time I ever rode on a motorcycle.
121. What is the lamest thing that you have seen someone do?
Drop out of school without even trying to do anything their senior year. Them dropping out wasn't lame, it was that they didn't even put in any effort. They dropped out the second week of school.
122. What is the stupidest thing you've done to impress someone?
Pretended I was into something I hated with a burning passion just so they'd hang out with me.
123. What is your morning routine?
Wake up, eat breakfast, check social media, shower, brush teeth, get dressed, go do whatever it is I have to do that day
124. What's the last thing you did that is worth remembering?
Maybe when I donated my hair to a charity that made wigs for kids with cancer? Or helping out in my community garden? Or when for my eighth birthday, someone accidentally gave me a doll my parents already bought for me that day, and I looked at the identical dolls in confusion. Someone suggested I could pretend they were twins and everyone was good-natured about it, but I didn't want two of the same doll. I noticed a little girl at my party and walked over to her and handed the doll to her, saying: "You can have this," And of course everyone thought I was being sweet. It was probably a really spoiled thing to do, looking back on it, but I'm still happy I did that. It seemed....really unchararistic of me, knowing the person I was back then.
125. If karma was coming back to you, would it help or hurt you?
Depends on what I did recently. I have been both helped and hurt by karma, hurt a few more times than helped but to be fair, I did more bad things than good. I try to maintain a balance, or do more good things than bad things. The littlest good thing builds up. A little good thing will happen to you.
126. What is your opinion on playing "hard to get?"
It can get really annoying. Just tell the person your true feelings.
127. What are the pros and cons of straightforward?
The pros are...well you tell it like it is. You let the person know exactly how you feel about them and some people appreciate that trait. But on the other hand, you can come off as being rude and even if you aren't, others will think you are.
128. What do you consider "leading" someone on?
Making them think you're actually interested in them when you aren't.
129. Are you the friendzoner or the friendzoned?
Neither, to be honest? I don't get very involved in things like that.
130. What do you admire most about your friends?
Their kindness.
131. What do you admire most about your family?
Their perserverance.
132. What is your opinion on "going with the flow?"
It works for some people, but not others.
133. Do you enjoy talking or listening?
Talking....haha....
134. When is it time to end a friendship?
When it's clear you're no longer the most important thing to them anymore and they don't value your time or thoughts.
135. What is the worst excuse you've ever come up with?
That I was walking my brothers home from school. I don't do that, they don't go to the same school, I can't even walk to my middle brother's school, etc....
136. If GPA didn't matter, what courses would you have taken?
I would've done what I did my senior year and take a bunch of electives. I would've still had history, English, and science. And Japanese. Then all the rest would just be electives. Or I'd volunteer at my high-school's daycare.
137. What are your favorite baby names?
Victoria, Emily, Andrew, Max.
138. When was the last time you had a deep conversation with someone?
I'm not sure....

It depends. I have it for a lot of things, to be honest.

149. How organized are you?
A little bit organized. Though every time I try to organize everything just gets messed up again.
150. Favorite mode of transportation.
The city bus.
(Part 3 and final part because the original was far too big to fit all in one post)

I uhhhh....there was a game on the Furby website where you had to take care of this girl's Furby while she visited her friend. You had to feed the Furby breakfast, lunch, and dinner for a week and you couldn't feed him too much of one food because he'd get sick of it. Fair enough, I suppose, but I didn't like a lot of the options offered for breakfast so I just kept feeding him bananas for breakfast and forgot I couldn't do that. One day I tried to feed him a banana for breakfast and he rejected it by sticking his tongue out and making a weird noise and for some reason it terrified me and I turned the game off right there and then and never played it again. That was the first and only time I ever played it. And ever since then I've been extremely terrified of Furbies. I never told anyone else that story because I thought I'd be made fun of because it's really stupid and I was only seven or eight when it happened so I feel like it wasn't actually that scary....lol

Me: *literally has no idea what an 'ugly teacher' would look like since almost all of my middle school and high school teachers, both male and female were extremely attractive*

*opens new tab and listens to that game's soundtrack*
*starts watching the gameplay again*

Needless to say no actual tornadoes touched down here in my city but we did get some really nasty wind gusts. A storm chaser later reported we had a wind gust of about sixty which made me ask why a storm chaser was even in my city in the first place haha

Mom: "Oh, I see you're listening to the dirty version!"
Me: "I swear it's not actually dirty though!!!"

Like the season hasn't even started yet and I'm already scared of what's in store. Last year was one of the deadliest AND the costliest year on record; with Irma, Harvey, and Maria all snagging spots in the list of Top 10 Costliest U.S. Hurricanes. I probably shouldn't tempt fate since it seems the meteorologists are already doing a fine job of that, but I just have to ask...how could it be topped? What could possibly happen this year to make it worse than last year?

Now? It's not funny anymore. It's not even fiction anymore. There's a reason cli-fi isn't as widespread as it used to be. A tornado several miles long? Hello El Reno tornado!!! A winter storm so cold it can freeze people within minutes? Hello North American winter storm complex of 2017!!! A massive category-five? Maybe not category-five, but Hurricane Irma had extremely low pressure and a wind speed never seen before in a hurricane.
Is this because of global warming? Maybe. Is it because of something else? Could be. My point is, cli-fi used to just be a weird sort of fiction I was into, but then it stopped being fun when real life started to imitate it. And you can't just make up even bigger storms, because even if people have good suspense of disbelief, those storms will just become reality in another decade or so.
Yes I am aware my examples are exceptions, like we've never had a tornado as big as El Reno's since. But the point is, it has happened. Cli-fi could make a comeback, but they'd have to work even harder at their job and honestly, who wants that when real life is literally about people trying to survive dangerous storms?
