Apparently a lot of people are having trouble starting the game up....and if you download it from its original website you have to unzip/extract all of the files to play it....I used to do stuff like that when I was younger for the games I downloaded, but I really don't feel like messing around with all of that and accidentally mess something up....
I ended up skimming the walkthrough for Doki Doki Literature Club because someone said you have to know what's in store for the plot or it really catch you off-guard, so I decided spoilers didn't matter and read it.and oh my gosh this is EXACTLY the sort of thing I LOVE. Like the game knows and reacts to what you do in the real world and you have to do things in the real world to progress in the game. And at the game's bad end, the game gets deleted entirely from your computer and you have to reinstall it to play it again.
Now I know for sure I'm going to get this.
How does it know what you do in real life?!?!
I don't know.....I'm sure it's some kind of software since it comes from the Internet. Like during the climax, the main character confesses to you and says she's in love with you-you, addressing you by your real name instead of your character's name. The game also knows if you're recording, leading to that famous scene where the main character makes a really scary face and says it's not polite to record a lady without permission.
One of the characters in fallout 4 addresses your character by name if you give them a certain name but that's...kind of freaks really. That sounds like it came out of a Creepypasta.

Mom says she wants to play that game now because she loves things that seem to be really sweet and innocent but are really twisted and messed-up. I told her I'll get the game tomorrow but I get to play it first. Here's hoping I don't get the ending where the game uninstalls itself from the computer lol
What should I do today? I have a very strong feeling of not wanting to do anything today....whenever I suggest something to myself it just sounds like so much effort to set up and I have no interest. But I can't just sit here on the computer all day....
Okay, why does everyone find ADoseOfBuckley so funny? I've watched his 'top ten worst hits of 201?' list every year since like 2012 or something and it is NOT funny at all. I am the kind of person who will laugh at literally anything, mind you. To me, he sounds like one of those people who is trying extremely hard to make people laugh by just insulting anything and everything around. This is different from making dark jokes. I can't stand people who are forcing themselves to say something funny just for laughs. You will find me very quickly shutting them out of my life. I am so sick of him saying 'fuck you if you like this song' or nitpicking the lyrics to certain songs.
I pretty much lost respect for him when he said he was going to start calling Meghan Trainor 'Meghan Tumblr' for doing what, exactly? Making girls feel confident about themselves? Oh no!!!!! While having too much confidence is definitely a bad thing, I'd rather people have too much of it than too little. I'm not even a fan of hers and yet I'm mad. That's not funny.
And call me butthurt all you want. There is nothing funny about a guy who sounds like he is literally straining his mind for jokes and being unable to come up with any, so he just says 'fuck you for daring to like something I don't' and hopes someone finds it funny. He gives off the air of someone who is extremely unhappy with his life and thus takes it out on other people. I hate people like that.
Who cares if you're not happy? Don't you dare take it out on other people.
And how dare you call yourself a comedian with a million plus subscribers yet continuously fail time and time again to provide anything funny or even meaningful to the Internet.

We used to have a PS2 maby years ago but that's it. We have every kind of Xbox and many Nintendo consoles.
Mom hates xBox and won't let us get any. She says nothing good ever comes out on it so there's no reason to have one lol
there are some Xbox exclusives I think are amazing and I'm not just talking about Halo.
Well my mom doesn't really like shooters or war games or stuff like that. She likes RPG's.
The 360 has some Lord of the Rings Rpgs that do NOT take place during the books-movies.
I think she's already played those.
OhWhat about the Fable games? I believe 2 and 3 are 360 exclusives.

I havent played many RPGs but those I have I've played to Oblivion.
That doesn't mean she has to play every RPG in existence :P
I know :p I just thought she'd be interested in one of the most legendary RPG series in history: p theres usually a reason why they're so legendary.

I paused some of the videos and I have ten episodes up. Five of them opened up with a very dark nighttime scene with the main character in the shadows, and two of them were asleep. I just found that interesting lol
And the othee five?
One was walking home, one was fighting a monster in prison, one was cooking, one was arriving to her new house, and one was in the afterlife.
Me: "I love those two so much! Oh, but I don't ship them. They're siblings!" Mom: "That hasn't stopped you before!"
Me: "I don't ship people together just because they're related! It's like any ship! I look to see if they have good chemistry and are compatible, and if they share interest, even one-sided, in becoming more than what they currently are. Or if they're engaged or married or whatever, since that right there trumps everything else for obvious reasons. I don't just look at two siblings and go 'oooooh they're related, time to ship!'"

I've sometimes wondered if Diabolik Lovers was intended to be a parody of dating simulators. It's so different compared to the other games released by Otomate. There's nothing wrong with that, but it's so different that I've wondered if it was meant to be some kind of parody of their usual formula. Their usual games are super girly, bubblegum sparkly-pop pink-infested and so inoffensive. They're all rated E. Most of them feature situations like Diabolik Lovers, where a seemingly human girl is thrown into a magical situation and her boyfriends are all some kind of magical/supernatural being.
In Diabolik Lovers, there's all kinds of topics brought up such as incest, adultery, affairs, experimentation, child abuse in all forms, abandonment, rape, death, suicide, murder, the list goes on and on. And while other Otomate games have given their characters bad backstories, it's hardly ever shown, just discussed, and even then, it usually just amounts to 'people at school/in my family sometimes ignored me' it was never something like 'my mom used to sexually abuse me when I was really young' and they wouldn't go deep into the physiological trauma such an event causes in a person's life. All of the guys in Diabolik Lovers have severe mental trauma that manifests itself in very ugly ways and the game shows how exactly each boy got to how he currently is. I specifically remember one Otomate game where the main character is shunned and locked in a room for most of her life because she's an illegitimate child, but instead of going into how it affected her, it's just the set-up for her backstory. And then her father gets murdered and she nearly gets killed too while escaping...but nope, everything is hunky-dory for her! Meanwhile in Diabolik Lovers, one character was often locked up in the dungeon in his childhood and forced to watch his mother have sex with his uncle whom she was openly having an affair with....and we see what effect that had on him as an adult.
It's one of the only Otomate releases to have games rated M in the series; the only others are CollarxMalice and Amnesia which are rated M for their violent content, Diabolik Lovers gets their rating from both violence and sexual content. It's one of the only games that flat-out states you have sex with your boyfriend. Some of the bad endings even involve getting raped. They use terms like 'i'm going to fuck you right now' 'let me pleasure you some more' 'the two of us became one last night, you were so aroused during it' Heck, when you get down to it, the plot is just about Yui becoming a vampire after having a bunch of sex with her vampire boyfriend because the sex corrupts her, hence why the brothers keep trying to have sex with her. The only other game I can think of where the plot revolves around the main character having sex to intact something is Code;Realize, but it was only with a villain, it was a rape scene, and that is the only instance of sex in those games.
Instead of making everything super overly girly and sweet, the game is very dark, in both tone and design. Yui herself is really girly of course, but that's it. The character designs aren't very colorful when compared to their other male designs, and the locations are very darkly-colored, off-putting, and even macabre sometimes. The amusement park in Lunatic Parade, for example, is pretty much deserted and one of the brothers states 'it's been this way ever since a disaster struck this area and nobody has bothered to clean it up since'. But you're still going on a date there!!
Even the character personalities seem to be parodies of the personalities you encounter in these games, but instead of it being funny like in Ouran Highschool Host Club, they're really twisted and warped versions. Like obviously you still have the bad boy, the idol, the cool guy, the little brother, but they're all really sadistic instead of being cute and sweet. They don't care what happens to you like other guys do. Hell, sometimes they'll throw you into literal danger and then laugh just because you're stupid.
It's a really different series for sure and that's why I think it's supposed to be some kind of parody. Maybe Otomate got sick of their cutesy formula and wanted to pay homage to darker images from literature. Maybe they hated their cuter games and made Diabolik Lovers the way it was as a form of rebellion. Or maybe I'm totally wrong and they just made it that way because they wanted to. I have no idea, but since it's so much more different from their other series in pretty much every aspect, I thought it would be fun to speculate.
And it seemed to have worked, as Diabolik Lovers, despite being made in 2012, is still one of their most popular series with so much merchandise I can't keep track, including a possible new game coming out in September of this year.
So yeah, those were my thoughts. >.<
Someone on Tumblr praised this blog I follow for always making such well-thought-out theories and headcanons for their favourite characters instead of just making simple headcanons. They go above and beyond about really thinking about what those people would be like in those situations and analyze them like cray. And for some reason, seeing that made me feel jealous. I know I shouldn't feel jealous. But yet, seeing that reminded me of how much work I put into my fandoms- all of them. All the theories and headcanons I make where I put a lot of work analyzing why certain characters act the way they do, or maybe why they don't. I spend hours sometimes just working on things like that because I love these characters, I love this community and I love this fandom.
I don't just say 'this character likes to wear high heels' I analyze WHY they like to wear high heels. Do they like them in a certain colour or style too? What do their friends/significant other think about this? And then I go to canon sources and pick out scenes or lines of dialogue to support my theory in both directions. Yes it's stupid but it's something fun for me to do.
But I've never received praise like that. Never have I seen someone take time out of their day and tell me my headcanons/theories made them really see a different side of a character even if they didn't agree. Or that I obviously put a lot of work and effort into what I came up with and that I obviously love what I'm talking about. That I really understand the spirit of both the series and the character.
Sometimes I wonder why I even bother to contribute in my fandoms....most of them are dying out anyway and the ones that aren't have far better and smarter people than me in them...people who are far better writers and make way better interpretations of canon and are way smarter than me and better at everything...
Sometimes I think I should just stop contributing to those fandoms altogether. Because what's the difference? They're going to be exactly the same whether I'm in them or not. Nothing will change and nobody in those fandoms will ever miss my work if I just stop contributing one day.
If you quit doing what you enjoy because someone does it better, you would never do anything ever again. Do it because you want to have fun, not for other people.
But part of the fun of being in a fandom is interacting with other people who love the same thing you do and sharing your headcanons and theories with them. I think it's a crucial part of even being in a fandom. But if nobody pays any attention to the stuff you make, then are you really part of that fandom? Nothing I make gets the attention of anybody in that fandom. I don't really have fun making stuff for just myself because of course I'm going to think it's good. It's mine, I already know it's good. But it must not be if nobody else notices.
I don't agree with that, because that would mean I'm not part of ANY fandom, including Elder Scrolls, Star Wars and Pokemon. And you kniw how much I enjoy those franchises.
Then you and I clearly have two difference ideas of what being in a fandom means.
Nothing wrong with that.Most of the people in my fandoms are toxic and blinded by rose tinted goggles. They spit on anything new and anyone who dares like the new stuff without playing the old stuff even though the old stuff is incredibly hard to come by now.
So I'd rather NOT be associated with the fandom at times.
I kept seeing Avatar stuff on my Tumblr dash this morning and for some reason I started thinking about my favourite scene from the series. I've never told anybody else what it is. I don't know why, I guess because it sounds stupid. But I've loved this scene ever since I first saw it as a little girl. It was a short in that episode from the second season Tales of Ba-Sing-Se. Yeah big surprise, but it's not the scene you're thinking it is.
It's that scene where Zuko decides to get closer to one of the Earth Kingdom girls and eventually goes on a date with her. She tells him her most favourite spot is this place where they light up these lanterns and she takes him to see them one night. They're not lit up that night and she's really upset, but then Zuko tells her to close her eyes and lights up the lanterns himself with his powers and it makes her really happy.
For years I've asked myself why I love this scene so much. It's such a simple scene and it's not even that emotional or anything like a lot of other scenes I could've picked. Even other scenes in that episode are more emotional than that one.
And then I realized. The reason why I picked it was because of what it made me think as a kid. When I was younger, I had seen Zuko has being purely a villain. I mean, he wants to capture Aang! Of course he's a bad guy!!! And even though there were episodes like The Blue Spirit, I was still convinced that he had ulterior motives for Aang.
But that scene. He was just doing that for some chick he hadn't even wanted to spend time with, I think Iroh told him to date her or something like that. And yet, he used his powers to make her happy, to give her something she wanted to see. He didn't have to do that. He could've gotten in huge trouble if anybody saw, if even she saw. But he pretty much risked his life to make some random girl we never even see again happy.
And that was when I realized there was so much more to Zuko, and the show of Avatar and its characters as a whole, than I had ever even realized before. And I still find that to be really beautiful and complex even to this day.
