~Look Down, You're Talking to Your Highness~[R]
Mom's best friend called her and the two started RPing for the night....which means we won't be watching a movie like she promised. Why did I even get my hopes up? Whenever Mom willingly agrees to do something with me, something that I enjoy, it always has some kind of a catch.
My grandparents gave my brothers and I $25 gift cards for Amazon for Christmas, and I finally decided to cave and find a DVD version of Book of the Atlantic. There was a woman on Amazon who was selling six copies of her own from the original Japanese version; they have English subs on them. They sold out super fast, and I jumped straight onto the bandwagon and bought the very last copy with my gift card. I feel happy I got something I wanted and I won't even have to wait long for it to get here, but at the same time, I feel bad that I bought the last copy.....what if someone else wanted it?
I'm going to reread the manga soon, so this is subject to change, but thus far this is my ranking of my most favorite Black Butler arcs from worst to best: 9. Murder Arc: I know the series is a mystery series, so I don't hate this arc for being a murder mystery. I hate this arc because the book author is an annoying narrator, the people at the party were annoying jerks, Ciel is being uncharacteristically not very smart, and the entire mystery ended up being too confusing once it was actually solved. The other arcs I dislike at least have some kind of positive factor to them, but this one just doesn't.
8. Indian Butler Arc: It's short, but there's nothing really interesting about it in my opinion. I like the new characters introduced but that's about it.
7. Blue Cult Arc: Is it cheating to put the current arc on here? I don't care, I'm doing it anyway. This arc is long, the plot twists make no sense, and what started out as a really good mystery ended up taking a back seat to drama that's on par with a soap opera that I despise.
6. German Witch Arc: The mystery makes no sense, and I dislike how Yana mainly made this arc as an excuse to put in tanks and Nazis, which didn't exist in this time period and didn't even bother to explain it like she did some other with historical stuff. However, I really like the setting, the new character introduced, and Ciel's nightmare/poisoning.
5. Black Butler Arc: It's the first arc and I almost always dislike first arcs. They tend to be vastly different from the rest of the series and this is no exception. Too much stuff has been retconned from this arc, noticeably so, such as the time period and the family tree. The personalities haven't been well figured-out either.
4. Red Butler Arc: I knew this would be the series for me when they made Jack the Ripper a woman.
3. Circus Arc: It's a creepy Victorian circus, I really like the series when they take areas commonly associated to be creepy and up-to-no-good in the Victorian era and just roll with it. It fits the series so well and I would love to see more arcs like that. I really like the characters too.
2. Weston School Arc: Same thing here; I like the aesthetic of prep schools that seem all perfect and traditional, but on the inside sinister things are happening. It's fun to see Ciel out of his element and meet the new students. The only thing I didn't really like was the reveal of the mastermind behind everything, it made absolutely no sense in terms of the story and just seemed to be there so the characters could fight something.
1. Luxury Liner Arc: Everything is absolutely perfect. This is the one time I don't mind Yana moving historical events a bit earlier in time because it works. Yes, she saw Titanic and wanted to rip it off, but I think it works really well because at the same time, it's still its own thing. The character development experienced in this arc is great, the references to Titanic work surprisingly well, the art is really good because she finally started to get more detailed, and the climax is very nerve-racking and well done. Overall, a most perfect arc that I don't expect to be topped, because I don't think you can top perfection.
So this girl made her OC's love interest already and wants me to play him? I really don't like it when people do this....
This is her personality:Personality: Being raised by a noble family, Emiliana is considered to be well-bred. She is very polite and shows respect to people in her inner circle. She has impeccable manners and speech, always knowing what is expected of her. Despite her quietness, her mind is very loud, always at work. She is always watching, observing, and taking mental notes of what is going on.
She gets lonely and bored without a lot of social contact and is thus always out on the town to meet new people. She’s a good conversationalist and charming, so a lot of people enjoy spending time with her. She is very graceful and radiates an aura of being very princess-like, no doubt from being spoiled her entire life. She thus expects the best of everything as a result. She loves being pampered and treated like a little doll and can’t imagine any girl thinking different. A strong woman is something foreign to her.
She’s not to be made upset, however, as she’ll cry and throw tantrums until the problem is dealt with. Around her family, she acts like an eternal child, with all the perks and woes of such a personality. She literally cannot process last-minute changes and cries about them; she often will lock herself in her room and just kick the wall to try and calm herself down. Her immaturity has made many people pause, as they believe she would be the most perfect British girl if she was only mentally sound.
She’s very intelligent but has trouble listening in her lessons; one of her tutors call her mental development ‘stunted’. She is fascinated by mathematics and loves sewing; she sews her friends adorable dresses. She is also interested in the occult and loves attending seances and fortune-tellings. She truly believes in things such as ghosts, telekinesis, angels, demons, etc. and secretly wants to meet one.
She believes in love at first sight and often chases after boys she finds interesting or ‘exotic’ compared to usual boring British boys. A lot of her crushes are just because they’re attractive, and her parents wonder if she even knows what it means to have a boyfriend. Due to her mental development, they’ve held off on getting her a fiance for now, but Emiliana really wants one. She wants to be treated like a queen and bought expensive things, but also wants a sensitive type of guy. Really anyone who won’t hurt her is good in her mind.
She does sound interesting, but I dont think I like her a whole, whole lot. Like, not thinking 'Wow that character's so amazing!" like. But I do like her ^^
I almost told you she's mixed ethnicities, but then I remembered you're not my ex-boyfriend and don't care if a girl is ethnic XP

I never said i didn't :p I mean, I kinda have a thing for "exotic" girls, but don't want to make it seem like that's *all* I care about.
My ex-boyfriend didn't think girls who weren't white attractive. It made me uncomfortable a lot. He even told me to stop rapping because he didn't want to think his 'girlfriend was half-white and half-black' that's literally what he said

She's that way because of the time period. She lives in Victorian England. She's actually a lot of fun to make and I hope I get to RP her at some point because she'd probably be fun to RP too.

WHile we're saying stupid stuff, women can't go to college and do jobs besides teach schoolchildren. Or cook. Or be maids.

Ah that makes sense.
What did you make her for?
She's a Black Butler OC. I had her in Google Docs for quite a while now, unfinished, but I had a sudden burst of inspiration and wanted to finish her up tonight.

Check your calendar sweetie, you must be at the wrong age. There's something called "freedom of speech"
Lol
Horray my OC is finally finished!!! https://docs.google.com/document/d/1w...
I'm actually really very extremely proud of her and I really hope I can use her in an RP soon!
On Wednesday there's going to be a lunar eclipse, supermoon, blue moon, and the lunar eclipse will turn the moon into a blood moon you know what that means
Imma hunt for fairies
The ending song Glass Eye from Book of the Atlantic is pretty much just a rock version of My Heart Will Go On from Titanic like the lyrics to Glass Eye are all stuff like 'I see you in my imagination and though I know you're no longer with me I still dream of you'
sounds a lot like the lyrics from that other movie
they're not even hiding how much of a ripoff this is
when I told Mom she was laughing so hard lol
In fanfiction there is a difference between being a good writer and a popular writer. Just because you can write a well-structured story with dynamic and consistent writing and characters doesn’t mean you will be popular. And sometimes stories that have disorganized plots, mediocre writing, and/or OOC characters will be held up as the greatest things to ever exist.
Just because your writing isn’t popular doesn’t mean you are a bad writer. Don’t ever compromise who you are, who your characters are, your plot, your writing style, anything for the sake of readership.
There are popular writers everywhere. But there are only so many good writers.
I needed to read this today. I’m guessing maybe others do too!
Reblogging from myself because I’ve never ever needed this more than I needed it tonight.
I NEEDED THIS SO BAD 😭😭😭😭😭
You ever get a review asking you a question and you have to answer it but there's no way for you to phrase the answer without sounding rude, because if they knew better they would know the answer was in the story
I brought this up a few days ago but never went into it. I don't like it when people have already-made love interests for original RPs. Like if they have an idea of what they want and ask me to make that character, then that's different since there's still some creative freedom there. I'm talking about people literally making and finishing love interests for their OCs that I have to play. It's okay in fandom RPs because the characters are already made and established in canon. If I'm already a huge fan of that particular work, then I can play them no problem. But I don't like it when they're made-up characters for an original RP because a lot of the time, I have no idea how to RP that type of character very well.
I know it's good to branch out and all, but there's just some character types I'll never be good at RPing. That's why I don't really like doing doubles for original RPs. Sometimes it works out fine, and sometimes it just doesn't.
So I was super bored and was inspired by a bunch of moodboards on Tumblr, so I ended up making a Pintrest for Emmy, AKA Emiliana, my Black Butler OC because yes, I was really that bored https://www.pinterest.com/bradyelizab...
Tomorrow I'll make one for Claire, my Diabolik Lovers OC
